Is Miranda wearing a wig this episode?

Every scene screams “Look at me, I’m in a room with black/Asian/gay/disabled characters”. Stop trying so hard.

So you would have found it all less cringey if everything was the same but more of the characters were straight cisgender white people?

No. I would have found it less cringey if Harry and Charlotte could simply go to the dinner party, be the only white people, eat their dinner, and not have to scream Michelle Obama’s name constantly. I’m delighted there’s a more diverse cast. Let them be a cast, not just race tokens.

I find it hard to believe that white people who have spent their entire adult lives in New York City would be this clueless around people of color.

I just read that Choudhury is listed as regular cast, while Pittman and Parker are technically guest stars. So Choudhury is the new Samantha, though not a commitment-phone.

Horrifically bad to the point each ep feels like an SNL lampoon.

Fwiw a Black woman writer wrote this episode.

Greg nails it. Carrie is such a BAD FRIEND on the show and in real life. She threw away Samantha and now she's throwing away Mr Big!

Who keeps posting this Greg Kelly guy’s tweets? Are you his PR? They’re never very good or insightful.

Greg tells it like it is.

Nah, he a bottom dwelling dredge of social media.

Me thinks Greg is sweating about his own accusers.

I agree on both counts. Can't believe that's the best they could come up with for Stanford.

So how rich are these women supposed to be?

Carrie seems like she is very wealthy now and she did not make much money in her lifetime nor was she born rich. I imagine with the sales of her books, she probably amassed what, a net worth of a couple hundred thousand dollars?

I imagine Big funded her lifestyle with the beautiful penthouse and the upgrades to her apartment.

Miranda was in big law and a partner for a few years so I imagine she is worth 5mil. Steve owned a bar, which I’m sure was pretty successful so I’d say his net worth is somewhere in the 2-5 mil.

Charlotte recieved a million dollars from her divorce and her apartment. Harry is a partner at a law firm so he brings in 2-3 mil a year. I’d imagine their net worth is in the 15 mil or so. They do well but not enough to be on the board at the Met. Lol

Of course Carrie is wealthy because of Big. She was a moderately successful writer but she would not have some lavish lifestyle if she were single.

Miranda and Steve bought that Brooklyn brownstone that they renovated in the early 2000s. If they sold it they would have made a ton of money. It looks like they traded up-- the house doesn't look like the same layout as their old one. Miranda would be very wealthy as a law partner. I can't imagine Steve's bar did great during the pandemic but they glossed over that. It would have been interesting to explore that.

As a divorce lawyer for the wealthy I'm sure Harry is loaded, but you're right that Charlotte being on the board of the Met is a stretch. There are plenty of small art museums in New York that would have been more realistic.

Watched the fourth episode last night. Meh.

Charlotte's arc felt a little white savior-y. She has no black friends but she's able to pull her new black friend's chestnuts out of the fire with her mother-in-law and suddenly she's "in" with the sisters? Uhhh...

And if Carrie is devastated by the loss of Big, it's hard to tell.

Miranda's prof opening up to her about IVF and maybe not wanting a child at all? They've known each other what? Weeks?

I happen to be simultaneously binging Insecure and while it's not perfect, holy cow, the quality differences are so dang stark.
