Fast takes on elevated recipes. 20 something year olds don’t have time to make their own candles, nor do I (millennial) but 20 year dc and I would both happily watch a show that helped us make nice meals with short cuts like frozen veggies, canned blah blah. I don’t typically have time to go harvest my own honey when making a meal for the day.

Fast takes on elevated recipes. 20 something year olds don’t have time to make their own candles, nor do I (millennial) but 20 year dc and I would both happily watch a show that helped us make nice meals with short cuts like frozen veggies, canned blah blah. I don’t typically have time to go harvest my own honey when making a meal for the day.

With that being said, as a fellow millennial, I can appreciate Meghan sticking to her style rather than changing. As you get older you kind of learn what works for you and gain confidence to avoid overhauling your style every time trends change. She's in ankle jeans and a button down, it's not like she's in a J. Crew bubble necklace or something extremely dated.

Why can’t anyone do a practical yet aspirational cooking/home show? I’m sure there is one out there but I don’t know it. Jacques Pepin has a ‘fast food’ cook book that I like. Fast takes on elevated recipes. 20 something year olds don’t have time to make their own candles, nor do I (millennial) but 20 year dc and I would both happily watch a show that helped us make nice meals with short cuts like frozen veggies, canned blah blah. I don’t typically have time to go harvest my own honey when making a meal for the day.
Honestly someone should do that, targeted at college kids and recent graduates! I believe Daphne Oz tried (or maybe she wrote a book about it) back in the day. OK, but I see Gen Z in the Metro wearing pants cuts and sweater styles that my mom wore in 1985. It absolutely floors me. It legitimately looks like they took one of my mom's outfits from the Sears Cheryl Tiegs catalogue.

I'm not, but you appear to be going through one whenever anyone points out (rightfully) that your clothing and references are dated. What's wrong with that? You're allowed to proudly walk around in your millennial page and have everyone able to pin your age, in the same way a 65 year old woman can waltz around in their QVC comfort sweatshirt and not be surprised that people pin her for being a grandma. That's why it's so amusing watching you crash out- you really thought there was nothing dated about your skinny jeans and ballet boots, and cannot stand to have someone point out that your style is passe now. Well yeah, duh. Wearing skinny jeans is not a crash out. I'm more pointing out that there are several posters who have been in here for hours who are arguing tooth and nail that their skinny jeans and oversized sweater look is extremely cool and not dated at all, just like it was in 2010 when that look first became common. The beige thing goes way back to her influence by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who died in a plane crash with JFk Jr in 1998. Bessette Kennedy was known for wearing Calvin Klein inspired outfits in beige and black Her style was very influential . There are photos of Meghan doing exact copies of the outfits.
It has been a hallmark of elder millennial style, the pared down, all white/brown/beige monochromatic thing, matching the similar all white/brown/beige kitchen. And what once seemed kind of chic, new and fresh, now looks incredibly dated and like a throwback to the mid 2010s, which was Meghan's heyday. Anyone who stays on top of trends knows that this kind of thing looks very out of date now and Gen Zs are always making fun of these stylistic choices. And for good reason- once you kind of pan out you realize how kind of ridiculous and overly stylized/ self conscious it often looks.
I don't personally think her style is dated. It reads more quiet luxury than sad beige.
With that being said, as a fellow millennial, I can appreciate Meghan sticking to her style rather than changing. As you get older you kind of learn what works for you and gain confidence to avoid overhauling your style every time trends change. She's in ankle jeans and a button down, it's not like she's in a J. Crew bubble necklace or something extremely dated.
I also do think this is one of those areas where she would never win and if she tried something excessively trendy she'd be made fun of for trying too hard.
It is very dated though, and you being a millennial may blind you to that fact since it's a style you still enjoy. In the way that plenty of boomers will still walk around thinking their outfits from the 80s or 90s are really cool, when it dates them and gives away their "era".

Well she probably should, especially with how catastrophically unpopular she is with the GP. And relegating herself to the middle aged mom demo is pretty limiting, especially as time passes and that demo ages up with her.
But the type of show is inherently geared towards older audiences. Young women just aren't interested in learning how to decorate for kids' birthday parties.
Why can’t anyone do a practical yet aspirational cooking/home show? I’m sure there is one out there but I don’t know it. Jacques Pepin has a ‘fast food’ cook book that I like. Fast takes on elevated recipes. 20 something year olds don’t have time to make their own candles, nor do I (millennial) but 20 year dc and I would both happily watch a show that helped us make nice meals with short cuts like frozen veggies, canned blah blah. I don’t typically have time to go harvest my own honey when making a meal for the day.
Honestly someone should do that, targeted at college kids and recent graduates! I believe Daphne Oz tried (or maybe she wrote a book about it) back in the day. Though I feel like targeting yourself at the "youth" (I'm sure I'll be flamed by the troll for using a "dated" word in 3..2...) inherently does better in modern forms of media vs. longform like books or TV.
