What Have You Learned from the Epstein Files? (Protecting Our Children)

Anonymous
After learning more about the case surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, what lessons have you taken away, especially when it comes to protecting our children?

Has it changed how you think about safety, awareness, or who you trust? I’d appreciate hearing your biggest takeaways and any practical steps you’re taking to safeguard your family.

I think the right makes fun of the "me too" movement, but I also think the "me too" movement is part of the culture shift that makes what Epstein did seem more appalling now.

What Epstein did was always appalling. People don't like pedophiles.

Don't vote for GOP/MAGA ever again since they clearly don't care about pedophiles and trafficking.

And, before anyone comes at me, not a single GOP/MAGA asked Bondi one thing about the Epstein files at the hearing. NOT A SINGLE ONE.

Ergo, this party condones child abuse.

If stocks are up you can do what you want unless you criticize Israel or call out Trump.

I expect that our daughters (those of us on DCUM) are not as vulnerable to fall prey to someone like this criminal. I am not concerned about mine. That being said, I will tell her to be wary of older men luring her with offers.

Actually, Massie did. So, one single GOP person did.

That I’m more interested in what brought him down to face justice (twice) when…

Listen, I thought he was more exclusive, private…

I wonder how many MORE people had knowledge. Did they think he was sleazy? Did they have interactions with him re: adult pleasures? Only adults?

How many hundreds of individuals lives did he touch in illegal ways? And they didn’t bring him down?

And WHO are the handful that got through to justice?

Take away their smartphones until federal bans are enacted on social media. Seriously. It's a prisoner's dilemma so federal legislators (like those already in much of the developed world) need to make the hard choices to take the decision out of parents' hands and we all need to pressure them. Kids are more tech savvy than adults, they always will be, and in no hypothetical world will your children be unable to outsmart you the parent, with help from apps developed by the very same tech bros gooning on the same demographic in the Epstein Files. Did Grok not give everyone the latest kick in the ass? Or else do you also casually leave dime bags of coke, meth, and heroin, along with loaded guns, all around the house because you know your kids are sophisticated enough to make the "right" decision about those, too? Of course these examples are more extreme, but they're also not as ubiquitous and insidious as online threats.

Many in the ruling class do not see women as human beings.

Do you have the same concern about all the human trafficking across the border under Biden? A whole lot more of poor kids than were trafficked by Epstein in his dreams.

Sadly, I think in some cases that the families were aware. $$$ involved.

This is a fallacy of thinking. It's very easy for a kid, even a younger adult, to find themselves in a compromising position these days without even realizing it. Sort of a moral/legal perversion of the sunk cost fallacy. Did you not get the message that these are very rich men and/or very powerful men who work together and who can basically pay/buy into any situation they want? And chances are they they've had many, many rounds of trial-and-error with other kids to fine tune their methods while your kid has had none? They can do phishing schemes or just pay someone in the same target demographic to befriend them. Always tell your kids to be wary and to not predict outcomes because the ones trying to scam them inherently are the ones actually forcing the outcomes, obviously pretty successfully according to the Files. It only takes one major misstep among a million different encounters. And the prefrontal lobe doesn't fully develop until the mid-20s. The internet is still pretty nascent and zoomers and gen alpha are its guinea pigs, and unfortunately the adults in the room have done a pretty piss poor job so far of monitoring it.

So are you saying that the GOP only cares about human trafficking during a Dem presidency? Is that really where you want to go here? They didn't care yesterday. You don't care that there are serious allegations of our POTUS raping children?

You're trash.

No, I'm not trash. Epstein is trash and you should quit repeating unfounded statements.
