| I'm seeing a lot of deferrals on social media. How did it go for your kids? |
| U-M loves to defer EA, so my guess is they will be very sparing for ED acceptances this first year and punt most til March timeline. |
Why the move to ED then? This seems silly. I think that they raised expectations with the addition of ED. |
| Really? That seems like a strange mid day time? Kid’s best friend applied so good to know (to be extra sensitive). |
| All deferrals to EA |
|
I also wonder what the point of ED is if they're not going to accept anyone. Have yet to see a poster anywhere say they got in.
Really weird. This will make people hesitate to try ED next year if they're just going to be strung along. |
| Huh. I assumed ED rates would be super high and oos EA would be a bloodbath. |
Updating to say, I saw one person on the A2C UMich megathread get in, in-state. |
| DS accepted for physics! |
| Maybe they are releasing in waves? Seems like some hadn't gotten their decision yet. Does UMich usually release in groups and/or gradually over an hour or something? |
Stats? In state or OOS? apply for aid? |
OOS no aid. 3.7/1490, nothing crazy for ECs but strong recommendations and well known private |
|
One kid from our private.
Lit magazine; stuco. English major. Good stats but not crazy. |
Of course they accepted people. The number of ED applications is massive, as you know. So just because everyone in your small sample got deferred, it doesn’t mean that no one got in. 🙄 By the way, one of DD’s camp friends in NYC got in ED. So add that to your anecdotal knowledge. |
DP. Do we know the number of ED applications? I don't think that has been released? |
