Elon Musk buys $3 billion stake (9.2%) in Twitter and is now the platform's largest shareholder

This thing will live for eternity to remind us of Elon's geniuses...

It’s been expensive, but he is achieving his goal.

These are real middle class and UMC people with families. They way they were so easily let go was sad. Elon showing no remorse. There were financial issues and layoffs were likely unavoidable, but he made it much worse losing advertisers and such. Not all but lots of layoffs could have been avoided if it wasn’t for one man’s ego.

Twitter was on track to lay off a good chunk of their workforce even before the Musk takeover shenanigans started. They probably wouldn’t have been as crude about it but the warning signs were there.

but it still would have made a screaming headline

It's funny how many people spend time trashing Elon Musk about Twitter. On Twitter. Which they think now sucks because of Elon Musk.

Is that not the best way to troll Mr.ThinSkin?

Beyond what anyone thinks of Twitter as a platform, or its hiring/firing practices, what Musk is doing is damaging the brand, and making it untenable for companies to rely on it. Those companies are their source of revenue. It's a bad business model to piss off one's clients.

And there's lots of liability. All those parody $8 blue check accounts were authorized by the company.

Can companies have a class action suit against Twitter?

I almost choked laughing at that one for real!

Apparently Musk went all crazy right wing because Biden did not invite him to some EV summit. If Twitter goes down the drain he will most likely lose control of Tesla. This is what happens when you embrace MAGA. Bet Abbott is not returning his calls now.

Musk = My pillow guy.

All the advertisers are fleeing the platform except for a few Nigerian princes. Twitter is in a death spiral. As a platform it not that hard to do what Twitter does.

Someone read me the tweet so I don’t know who said it but someone replied to Elon making the same whine with something like, well duh, you don’t complain to the drycleaners that your lunch sucked.
