Is stating that Gaza is a genocide antisemitism?

No desire to troll. Is a genuine question. This is what recently happened in Spain. They claim it is a genicide and the Israeli government says that it is antisemitism. Just wanted a fresh perspective from the us. Thank you!

Not at all. That’s what it is, and that’s how history will record it.

Not at all. Israel screams antisemitism for everything.

If the methodical decimation of a populace is not genocide then what should the Holocaust be called?

Nope

The practiced definition of anti-semitism according to Israel is anything that makes it look bad.

The truth sets us free.

It’s not anti-semitic to believe that Israel’s policies and actions are resulting in a genocide unless one believes that holding Israel accountable for ANY policy or action, no matter HOW extreme, is anti-semitic.

Is it anti-American to consider slavery in America or the slaughter and displacement of Native Americans as stains on our nation’s history? Of course not. How ridiculous to suggest it is …

Not anti-semitic. Not even close.

When I post about this topic they are deleted after 10 seconds. I have friends and relatives that are Jewish and I respect them. But somehow some people say that criticizing the situation in Gaza is antisemitism.

No. This Jewish, former IDF, Holocaust scholar has said what is happening in Gaza is genocide. I don't think anyone called him an anti-semite.

I’m a Genocide Scholar. I Know It When I See It.

A month after the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, I believed there was evidence that the Israeli military had committed war crimes and potentially crimes against humanity in its counterattack on Gaza. But contrary to the cries of Israel’s fiercest critics, the evidence did not seem to me to rise to the crime of genocide.

By May 2024, the Israel Defense Forces had ordered about one million Palestinians sheltering in Rafah — the southernmost and last remaining relatively undamaged city of the Gaza Strip — to move to the beach area of the Mawasi, where there was little to no shelter. The army then proceeded to destroy much of Rafah, a feat mostly accomplished by August.

At that point it appeared no longer possible to deny that the pattern of I.D.F. operations was consistent with the statements denoting genocidal intent made by Israeli leaders in the days after the Hamas attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had promised that the enemy would pay a “huge price” for the attack and that the I.D.F. would turn parts of Gaza, where Hamas was operating, “into rubble,” and he called on “the residents of Gaza” to “leave now because we will operate forcefully everywhere.”

Mr. Netanyahu had urged his citizens to remember “what Amalek did to you,” a quote many interpreted as a reference to the demand in a biblical passage calling for the Israelites to “kill alike men and women, infants and sucklings” of their ancient enemy. Government and military officials said they were fighting “human animals” and, later, called for “total annihilation.” Nissim Vaturi, the deputy speaker of Parliament, said on X that Israel’s task must be “erasing the Gaza Strip from the face of the earth.” Israel’s actions could be understood only as the implementation of the expressed intent to make the Gaza Strip uninhabitable for its Palestinian population. I believe the goal was — and remains today — to force the population to leave the Strip altogether or, considering that it has nowhere to go, to debilitate the enclave through bombings and severe deprivation of food, clean water, sanitation and medical aid to such an extent that it is impossible for Palestinians in Gaza to maintain or reconstitute their existence as a group.

The truth is the truth and cannot be "anti" anything.

Majority of Holocaust/Genocide scholars agree it's a genocide including some very prominent Israeli ones.

Yes you are trolling, and no, your question is not genuine. And yes, in some circumstances, stating that Gaza is genocide is antisemitism. But you are not accepting of contrary opinions being stated. So tell me that I am Jewish (I am not), and include the word "scum" in your response, all for old times' sake.

When someone defends Jews against antisemitism, calling them a Jew who is lying about being Jewish is your attempt to discredit them without engaging with what they are actually saying. This tactic is built on old antisemitic stereotypes that suggest Jews are inherently deceptive or manipulative, so the accusation itself reinforces the prejudice. It also sets up a kind of gatekeeping where only certain Jews are considered authentic and anyone who speaks out against hate is written off as fake. In reality, what you are doing is simply trying to avoid acknowledging antisemitism, and it falls apart once you recognize it for what it is, a deflection and not an argument.

No. It's the truth. It is genocide. Many Jews have agreed. A panel of experts on genocide also agreed.

I do not blame most Israelis, let alone Jews writ large, for this genocide. Every civilian in the area, Palestinian or Jew or other, is a VICTIM here. Victims of the horrific machinations of their respective leaders and governments. Jews are being blamed for something they did not want.

I blame the murderer, Netanyahu, and his acolytes on the right, for fomenting anti-Semitism around the world with the genocide he has inflicted on Gaza.
