US Super Regions?

Anonymous
States are banding together to overcome the damage that the current administration is doing to the federal system. Might this be the way of the future for the US as a whole and become the beginnings of dividing the US into separate regions with some type of weak federal oversight?

Yes, this is best case scenario for the future of the Republic. It's the only way forward that doesn't involve out and out civil war. We just break up and stay loosely associated through a weakened federal government. I don't know that republicans will actually allow it to happen though, because all the money and prosperity they want to control is in blue states and cities.

Interstate compacts are not allowed. It's in the Constitution.

A lot of things aren't supposed to be allowed. Felons aren't supposed to be President. Rapists are supposed to go to jail. The military isn't supposed to be policing citizens.

Kings aren't allowed either, what is your point?

We don't have a constitution anymore. the SCOTUS and GOP have basically shredded it at this juncture.

The constitution is subservient to executive orders of the president.

The best thing is for blue states to be set free of the red states. Looking at a map blue states could easily join Canada.

If Democrats were smart, they would lower the federal income tax to 5%, equalize earned income and capital gains rates (both at 5%), establish progressive tax brackets for the corporate tax rate (create a real wedge between Big Business and SMEs), raise their state income taxes by a corresponding amount, and then let Red States deals with the fallout.

That's how you "get back" at states led by Republican elites. They would absolutely crater without federal spending.

All rules appear to be off at the moment.

might be hard to get all blue states to go for this as its really only that CA, MA and NY that have a huge differential between what they pay and what they get.

Nope. I say we fight a civil war and keep ALL of the country. We can expell the surviving maga trash to Russia, if they want to live. If not, we can turn them into fertilizer.

There isn't a king. There is a democratically elected president.

No, we're aren't throwing away everything so many have fought and died for simply because we're suffering through a period of inadequate leadership since Obama left office. It will take just one leader to step up and reunite the country as soon as 2029. Be stronger or stop pretending to be an American and move.

Interesting this is on the West Coast because they’d already announced doing it in the Northeast. I hope DC gets aligned with the Northeast. Our mayoral race next year should address this.
