Fetterman. Snort.

Yeah Conor Lamb wouldn’t be doing this sh!t.

How is anybody going to force him to resign? Would Trump fire him?

Do the armed forces follow orders from a compromised intoxicated individual?

Not qualified? Look at his predecessor…went to the ICU for a few days and didn’t tell anyone!

That does not make him unqualified. It's a serious issue and was totally wrong - but do you know what words mean?

Deception and dishonesty reflect poor character

Yeah, keep going.

You admire those traits?

Or maybe that wasn’t their real issue with DEI.

+1

Only the best people!
• Mr. Hegseth abused alcohol regularly and his volatile behavior caused family members to fear for their safety.
• Mr. Hegseth's second spouse had an 'escape plan' that involved texting a 'safe word' to friends and family to urgently request assistance without putting herself in more danger with Mr. Hegseth. This escape plan was executed on at least one occasion.
• On at least one occasion, Mr. Hegseth's second spouse hid in her closet out of fear of him.
• While drunk in his military uniform - a violation of military laws - Mr. Hegseth was so inebriated that his brother had to carry him out of a Minneapolis strip club. This occurred during a drill weekend with the Minnesota National Guard.
• Mr. Hegseth regularly became so drunk that he passed out, threw up, and had to be carried out of family events and public settings, sometimes shouting sexually and racially offensive statements.
• Mr. Hegseth said that women should not vote or work, and that Christians needed to have more children so they could overtake the Muslims

If he is on video being drunk after promising to not touch alcohol, he won't have a choice.

I just reread his mother’s email. She says she wrote to him on behalf of all of the women he had abused, and that she knows there were many.

Honestly, that is not sine anonymous person. That is from his mother.

It is so wrong to put him in charge of supervising thousands of brave women in uniform. They deserve so much better.

If you are Republican, please call your Senator and ask him/her to say No to Hegseth.

All of our enemies will try to get proof of his ongoing transgressions, so they can pressure him.

Compromising

Are you serious? Have you paid any attention to how personnel decisions work in Trumpland?

Foreign governments will work to put him in that situation. That's why the security clearance process works the way it does. He's a huge national security risk.

Waiting on some MAGA to explain to us all why this is guy is qualified to be in charge of the defense of the United States . . . .

Even if he weren't a sexist islamaphobic drunk (which he is), he would STILL be patently unqualified for this position.

So please, Trump lovers----explain to us why you think this is okay.

There are only so many cabinet picks that Senate Republicans are going to reject. Hedgseth is horrible, but he's not as bad as Gaetz and Gabbard. I'm pretty sure Senate Republicans are going to tank Gabbard's nomination, so they are letting Hedgseth go for now. Hedgseth is a weak man with no self-discipline. I suspect he's out within a year, probably for drunkenness. Trump is a teetotaler. Public drunkenness in his Secretary of Defense is likely to be a red line for him. Hedgseth did swear to quit drinking upon confirmation. But I can't imagine he succeeds in white knuckling it for very long in a very stressful job. He'll break and be forced to resign. Meanwhile, the under-secretaries and JCS will contain the damage. Hedgseth is a stupid and insulting pick, but political expediency is the more pressing concern for Senate Republicans. They are going to let him self destruct on the national stage.

And what price will our national security pay along the way?

What if our enemies purposely attack (say by cyber) when he is in charge, because he is so weak.

I just wish they had the balls to hit Trump upside the head (ie, rejecting all of his unsupportable nominees), to show that they are serious policymakers who intend to be partners with him, not supplicants.

Tell me why he isn't. Was Leon Panetta qualified for SECDEF?
