I’ve been taking it for a few months and aside from one time where I got really nauseous after I ate far too much I’ve had no side effects other than losing about 12 pounds so far. Sorry. Just because you don’t want to take it or can’t afford it doesn’t mean it isn’t a lifesaver for others

That’s probably because the side effects are not common/severe. Remember this was a very common and successful diabetes drug for many years before getting the new indication.

I only mind when an OP is clearly asking for advice, besides, using a GLP1, and another comes in and offers that advice. Often it derails the conversation.

Some don’t respond as much. If they’re eating the same and moving the same they’re not going to lose weight. Most of the drug’s effectiveness is appetite suppression.

Same thing as Monjaro. It started as a diabetes drug before being rebranded and labeled for weight loss. Same underlying drug

I can! It's because the drug is doing its job in regulating that person's metabolic system. The question you should be asking is - is the person's A1C decreased?

It will be a case of fafo. I am happy for these people, if they are happy. I am on a regimen to lose 20 pounds and I never considered using these drugs. I suspect we will find out in 5 or so more years the true effects of these dugs on the digestive system. I'm thinking cancer will abound in this population: normal weight or barely overweight people with no comorbidities.

There is an ongoing lawsuit claiming that these drugs cause permanent blindness. That alone scares me like no other side effect.

How long did it take to find out what Fen-Phen was doing to people's heart valves and causing pulmonary hypertension?

5-10 years. 5 years for the word to start speading: it was early to mid 90's, so news took longer to spread than it does today. Phen fen was pulled in the late 90's after it was linked to serious and sometimes fatal heart and lung issues. My cousin had 3 heart attacks while on it. She was late 30's at the time.
