Be mindful if you hanging out on federal land in DC. Park Police have started arresting people for open containers and marijuana usage. I thought this was only a ticketable offense but I guess not. Majority of parks in DC are ran by the national park service, so just keep an eye out.

Bravo. Really happy that this is happening, and hope they ramp it up.

GOOD!! Esp cracking down on drug use in public. It’s absolutely disgusting.

Lame. Glad NYPD doesn't do this. Nothing better than to go to a concert in the park with a bottle of wine.

Now go to a cabinet meeting!!

Can the Park Police please come to the Cleveland Park metro? Come for lunch at the new deli, stay for the public drug use!

I recently had a conversation with someone who insisted there is no open container law in DC. That didn’t sound right to me but apparently there’s at least some confusion on this point.

I see this behavior in the parks more than anything. I think a lot of people don’t even know it’s a rule. You see people sitting out with seltzers and wine bottles all the time.

Great! They're stepping up when DC cops won't.

We go to Wolf Trap (National Park Service's concert arena in Virginia right outside DC) all the time. It's BYOB and you can bring whatever alcohol you want and can drink the entire concert. They sell alcohol too. I also like concerts with a bottle of wine, preferably my own!
