They don't understand and they don't care. You can go to European countries and listen to the silence downtown adn on the highways as efficient, affordable, fun electric and hybrid cars drive by. They're better! But we can't have them because Lurlene and Lyle got on Facebook and want to know why things can't just be the way they used to be! America used to be excited for the future... not anymore.

The problem, of course, is that there is no purity and it's somethign that will be perpetually out of reach. The dog can't be allowed to catch the car, and when it does, for example with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, it turns out life isnt' any better, no one is happier and no one has stopped having abortions. They're just more expensive and dangerous. So, you're right, we won't get the nice stuff, the stuff that makes us rich and, for so long, admired and respected... and we'll be stuck with a fake never-ending chase for something that can't be had. |

The Chinese investment in EVs, battery and self driving are having an impact similar to our investment in the manned moon missions. Chinese EV come standard with lidar which Tesla said was too expensive for mass marketed cars.
The Chinese are way ahead of the US in a lot of tech. They are also mapping the sea flood of the pacific for minerals exploration and tracking US submarines. |
