Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

I'm not sure it's the parents. It's all good. If you really love the game, you should share it and be its biggest advocate.

I'm glad your boys had fun, and I'm sure it was more satisfying for them than their typical tournament performance of losing on Saturday and playing consolation games on Sunday. But their opponents were not exactly challenging. Mostly True Lacrosse garbage teams (nb the best True team, True Annapolis, was not even there). For example, the first two True teams that VLC 2025 thrashed subsequently played each other. This clash of the titans resulted in a 1-0 final score. ROFLMAO! That is some U8 rec team level lacrosse right there. Would have been embarrassing not to destroy those teams.

Then you beat DCE 5-4. This is the DCE team that was in the division below you in HoCo, so really, it should not have been as much of a struggle to beat them as it was. (You should also have been in the AA division in HoCo instead of AAA, but oh well.) If you get their best players then you'll have a really great AA level team, yay! At least, unlike you, they know how to score points, against other AA teams anyway.

It's great that you're getting a new coach, whoever he is. The coach you had this year was clearly terrible. That is why your team did not improve significantly over the course of the year. Sorry, haters, but numbers don't lie. My guess would be that your coach this year was of the "yell at kids when they do things wrong" type rather than the "give kids useful feedback when they do things wrong so they get better" type. The latter approach is actual coaching, which is what you were paying for but did not get.

If VLC gets new players and a new coach, they should indeed improve. The question is, will the new coach be able to compensate for the year of player development you simply did not get over the past season under the old coach?

only HS school coaches will have the time, respect from players nad experience/ knowledge to fix this mess. closer to truth coaches were laxadaisical inattentive baby sitters and weren't ever accountable for themselves and players which is why players were stagnant individually and as a team. while they sat on their hands last year, vlc knows this will be a tough year ahead. with real coaching and players who want to get better this team should be better by next summer.

With our VLC boys out here too, Looks like your goalie ain’t staying at VLC. He looks pretty good.

I wouldn’t be surprised if lots of kids from VLC, NL, and DCE didn’t try out for all three teams, and maybe ML as well. Few players can be so confident that they’ll make a team that they’ll only try out for one team. Try out for several teams, hopefully have options.

I wouldn’t be surprised if lots of kids from VLC, NL, and DCE didn’t try out for all three teams, and maybe ML as well. Few players can be so confident that they’ll make a team that they’ll only try out for one team. Try out for several teams, hopefully have options.

There were only a handful of good looking non-NL kids at tryouts last night. One was that VLC goalie, and the other was an attacker with a bright yellow helmet who gave our starting goalie all he could handle in the 4 x 4 drill. I hope we grab both kids. Just don't know what club he plays for.

I am not a fan of shopping around, but everybody does it. Merely attending a team's tryout means nothing. If you want to gloat about stealing players from another club, save it for after Labor Day, or better yet, wait until the fall HoCo rosters are submitted.

No HoCo for the 25s since they are now freshman in high school. But agree with the Labor Day comment broadly.

Yellow helmet is either Bullis or Baltimore Crabs I think
