Not interested in playing CCL soccer rebranded as ECNL. Rather play ECNL soccer rebranded as DA.

When the top DA teams in the Mid Atlantic are losing games to the mid tier teams in ECNL in showcases, I would say your claim is flawed.

Top Tier DA teams played Mid-Teir ECNL teams in a showcase? WTF....lmfao

Local Example: 4th place ECNL U15 McLean team versus two 03 DA teams just a few months ago (source Gotsoccer.com):

Penn Fusion Girls Winter Showcase - Ranked until 2/18/2019
2/18/2018 WASHINGTON SPIRIT DA (MD) 3-1
2/17/2018 FC VIRGINIA USSF DA 03 (VA) 1-1

Mind you, FCV is "top of the heap" of DA teams in mid atlantic for U15. So, by your logic, the rebadged lowly CCL team from ECNL should have been crushed by the superior DA teams in NOVA. Not. There are plenty of examples of this across the U.S. So, now that some of the previous powerhouse ECNL teams such as Michigan, PDA and FC Stars have come back to ECNL, this further supports the case that your claim of superior competition being in DA is poppycock. They left in part because DA competition was terrible beyond the top few teams and it was obvious. Again, I laugh at you DA pukes claiming superiority over ECNL. The only reason DA exists right now is that they stole a few top teams from ECNL. Now those teams are moving back. Look at the trade outs for DA (its actually like CCL which is getting worse). You Lose top flight PDA, Michican, FC Stars and you gain Oklahoma Energy, Sporting Omaha, Utah Royals (Arizona) and Arlington Soccer Association. Uh....OK. On second thought, stay in DA. Your better off over there I agree.

This only proves a PP that discussed how entrenched talent did not change clubs. McLean has been ECNL for a decade, no shit that they would do well against current DA/former ECNL clubs.

What matters most is going forward. 03 and 04 age groups a watered down mess. 05-06 should start offering some clarity going forward. 07-08 will confirm.

If DA loses Crossfire, Slammers and Eclipse to ECNL then it's over. ECNL becomes the powerhouse platform in the US. Just look at the current DA standings. Most of the best teams would be gone.

All of the top USSF and college scouts will shift their attention there, start to work with those teams at practices, try to implement best practices, etc.

Let me tell you how weak the mid-Atlantic ECNL conference has gotten.

NC FUSION, who couldn't field a team a year ago, is 2nd in most standings. Pathetic.

The only team worth playing in NC was CASL and they moved DA.

ECNL now vs. a year ago is completely different. Sorry, but it is.

Then why wasn't ECNL over when they lost almost every major club in the country?

ECNL next year will be completely different. Sorry but it will be. So will DA.

Ok Loudoun Dad, get back to us with how you did against PDA next fall. Oh, you can’t because they aren’t in your division.

Because they had 10 years of stability and performance and college pipelines established. Now the best clubs in the country are realizing that and coming over. Abandoning DA in its infancy.

Who the F cares which is "better"?

McLean (ECNL) will only get kids from their zips, not a powerhouse of talent.

Same goes for Arlington (DA), bunch of beltways.

Go down the list to Braddock, Spirit, and the rest. Same problem.

For those with players who have talent and promise, we all are paying a bunch of money to play with the same local players, many of which two years ago would never have made an ECNL team. Wake up and look at what you are paying for. and who DD will be training with.

Either one, ECNL or DA, in the mid-Atlantic can't die fast enough. Who cares which one. Just die. When USSF announced this market as its next pilot area for a war with ECNL, we all got F'd.

If you don't believe me, just wait a few months to see who from your local club makes the roster of your DD's elite DA/ECNL team.

We will play the best teams several times a year in showcases - PDA, Crossfire, Eclipse, FC Stars, MI Hawks. Sounds good to me.

Anonymous wrote:Ok DA parents. Let's hear your arguments for why losing Sky Blue PDA, MI Hawks and FC Stars to ECNL does not matter...

It does matter but it is more of a regional issue. Certainly losing PDA affects the overall strength of the division, but the players ultimately decide where to play. Frankly, what a club in Michigan does has several degrees of separation from my kid, PDA less so. But, at the end of the day, the players will choose the platform that works for them.

Does any of this mean that my kid is going to immediately run to BRYC, McLean or Loudoun now? Not any more or less than before honestly. But, I am one of the few posters that has always maintained that there is room for both leagues in regards to the girls game. Women's soccer is huge in this country and the overall availability to more higher quality programs does not harm the players. It DOES harm the chest beaters who need to proclaim their kid is in the best, but instead they should be thinking, my kid is in the best for her.

#MONEYGRAB

Yes, every girl gets to be ELITE and wear a fancy patch. The big USSDA and ECNL nets has resulted in dilution and no movement and a bunch of B teamers will be on DD's roster. Nothing new, no concentration of talent. I guess I should be more thankful that so many parents willing to put their DD on as a roster filler and support an elite option almost everywhere I drive in NoVA. Do the DA-lovers even realize that their DD will get starts 25% of the time, yes, and then be quickly pulled out to ride the pine like they do the other 75% of the matches??

Doesn’t your DD get the challenge she needs at National Training Centers and her National Team call ups?

Until PDA and those other teams embarrass you. Frankly, you have no idea how utterly average your team will look in comparison.

Buckle up.

You do know that there is no Superbowl for youth soccer - right? Who cares if we lose? Those teams are the best in the country. It's about development. Playing the best teams possible and a platform for college ID.

Good luck to you. FCV will play so well against OK Energy and Utah Royals. Sporting Omaha better look out!

^^ It isn’t that you will lose it will be the manner in which you happen to lose. Believe me nobody would ever bill a Loudoun vs PDA game as the “Super Bowl of Soccer”.

What you will find out is that your team is not uniquely good beyond CCL. Even BRYC in a weak division found out that there is another level.

I bet FCV Dad was crying when Sky Blue PDA embarrassed (his favorite word) them in the first DA game ever. It brought back bad memories of DD losing to Loudoun so many times. If only his DD could be on the best soccer team in the universe - all would be good. But there is no World Cup for his DD. Such a tragic tale of sorrow.
