The percentage of Americans who are unprofessional trigger happy ICE agents or protesters with the time and brazenness to interfere with Federal Law Enforcement make up a fraction of a percent of our population. These are not sides. These are two small factions of people who, together, have become a ticking time bomb that was inevitably going to go off.

Reckless and unruly ICE Agents and protesters do not represent large swath of people.

Sorry I shouldn't have said "both sides". What I mean is that like immediately after this, the Republicans aligned with the ICE agent and the Democrats aligned with the victim.

I wish Republicans would come out and say, "hey we have a HUGE problem with what that ICE agent did and he should be charged with murder."

And I wish the Democrats would come out and say, "hey that was a huge tragedy. Let's not let her death be in vain. If you are going to insert yourself in ICE operations, you need to stay calm, have a plan, and understand the stakes / the situation." (Not trying to victim blame but obviously in hindsight we can watch the video and see that she should've made different choices - though her murder is never ever justified).

Agree 100%. I too am surprised more GOP politicians haven't acknowledged the obvious problem with inexperienced trigger happy ICE agents on our streets in the wake of this tragedy. When it's this obvious, they typically see the benefit of being on the right side of history. At least some of them usually see that benefit.

She was not shot. She was executed to send a message. This is how terrorism works.

B: Threw her to the ground and all piled on to restrain her with their oh-so manly bodies?

Google "officer created own exigency." It is not permissible to move to block a vehicle that is attempting to exit, and thereby create a reason to shoot.

Also good law enforcement officers *de-escalate* a situation. These goons were all about escalation so they could shoot her.

Democrats “overperforming” in specials and off-year elections doesn’t matter. The Republicans are keeping their powder dry. The federal investigations of Democrats fundraising hasn’t stated yet. The harassment of Democrat campaign workers hasn’t begun. The intimidation of Democrat voters is wildly premature for an election nine months away.

The shooting yesterday will intimidate protesters to back off and let ICE pick up whoever they wish. Do you really want to get shot to stop your neighbor’s gardener from being picked up?

Same holds for voting Democrat. Do you really want to show up in a heavily Democrat precinct when you’ll stand in line for hours? Face bomb threats from Moscow? Stand and walk in front of trigger-happy armed-to-the-teeth Republicans? Republicans working for ICE, Border Patrol, the National Guard, and other enforcement agencies. Men who volunteered to patrol your blue area during Early Voting and on Election Day?

That's not how it's going to play out. Every one of these incidents is further driving voters toward the Democrats, particularly with Independents.

That IS victim blaming.

If you think about it, ICE’s primary goal is to keep Americans safe, yes? They want American interest’s protected over undocumented immigrants’s. But, if you use that measure, they’ve totally failed.

ICE isn’t keeping Americans safer. It’s detaining legal citizens, ruining residential neighborhoods, using violent tactics that create PTSD for witnesses, including many children, and on.

Thus, ICE is a terror organization sanctioned by the GOP/MAGA. If you frame it like that, it’s clear who has the responsibility here.

I have yet to see one Republican agree that ICE receive insufficient job training though it is very obvious they do not. Perhaps call your reps to request better training for them? Our government puts them at risk when they do not provide less training for a federal agent than an average police officer.
