Not a single American GM, Ford, or Chrysler car in my neighborhood

Anonymous
I notice that everyone in my McLean neighborhood drives either Porsche, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Jaguar, or Tesla. I do not see any GM, Ford, or Chrysler cars. This seems to be especially true with my Asian neighbors. Almost all of them drive Lexus LX580 or LS500. All of them had multiple bad experiences with American made cars, with the exception of Tesla. FWIW, I drive the Lexus NX300.

Well yeah, once you have money, you can afford good cars. American cars are not that.

People dont realize Chevy Yukons cost $100,000 and GMC Pick-Ups can cost $97,000. And they get impressed a Tesla you can buy for 10K used.

The richest person I ever knew personally drove a 30+ year old daily driver. They were worth probably more than anyone that's ever visited this site.

Poor and middle to lower upper income like to overspend on cars to try to flex.

My Honda is made in America.

I think everyone owned a Ford/GM/American owned car at one time and it was a lemon. I had the nicest Chrysler van but it was straight trash. The AC never worked and it had so many issues. My Honda Odysseys have never been in the shop before 100k miles. They’re well made tanks.

So you're saying people who live in McLean are fools? OK.

some people view a car as a status symbol and some view a car as a tool....and lots of people fall in between. I got 15 years out of my last Ford and on year 11 of my current one.

The only American cars on my street here in my Fairfax County neighborhood are two Ford pickup trucks each driven by teenage baseball players cosplaying country boys.

Oh - and one HS girl drives a new Bronco.

Other than that it’s BMWs, Audi, Lexus, Tesla.

My Subaru was made in Indiana. I'd call that an American car.

This

And OP is a racist and stupid

Asians are not the only people in her neighborhood buying Lexus

Lexus has been reliable . Lexus doesn’t jack up prices then give you a “ $20;000 “ off blah blah blah sales for dummies pitch. Pricing is easy. Not like ford or Chevy always running “deals “

Do GM, Ford, or Chrysler make luxury cars?

Except for Cadillacs aimed at rappers?

Many of new money are.
Old money doesn’t lease cars for three years. They buy they keep.

My Toyota Corolla is 20 years old and I'm worth 20M. Honestly, I do worry about the airbag on my car. It wasn't subject to recall, but it's OLD. The rest of the vehicle has worked fine all these years with cheap, infrequent maintenance.
