Not a single American GM, Ford, or Chrysler car in my neighborhood

From my own personal experience.. This is true. Our brand new GMC Denali gave us sooooo many issues over the years. It was non stop.
Glad it's gone and I literally don't have to own an SUV so large ever again in life.

I figured that background was a movie set. It's actually a real downtown in a place called Suttons Bay, Michigan off Lake Michigan.

Would be nice if this was true, I kind of want a new Escalade, however I feel that Motortrend has been shilling for various manufacturers for years. I hope I'm wrong and this is a reemergence of US manufacturing.

This.

My Ford was constantly in the shop. The next car I purchased was a Honda. It’s done beautifully.

The richest person I ever knew personally drove a 30+ year old daily driver. They were worth probably more than anyone that's ever visited this site.

Poor and middle to lower upper income like to overspend on cars to try to flex.

Here we go with this "rich people wear tattered clothes with patches and drive beaters" BS. The richest person in the world drives a Tesla. Zuck has owned an Italian Pagani Huayra. Altman drives a McLaren F1. Rich people like nice sh** and spend money.

It’s an old money vs. new money thing. The tech bro billionaires are new money. It’s why they want to be an oligarchy. They have to show off because they are insecure that they matter.

I had good American cars - I kept them forever. But when I was replacing my last Oldsmobile (yes, it has been a while) GM wasn’t really making anything I wanted to drive. I went with a Mazda that’s now 16 years old. Soon it will be time to replace that, and there’s nothing domestic that I want to get. I want a gas hybrid that’s not too ugly and midsize SUV. GM went all in on electric and they pared down their lines so much that there’s little left. I test drove a Mazda that’s the same as the one I have and it was nice and a good ride. Their new hybrids are going to be using the RAV4 power train and engine.

They’re not making cars that people want to,buy unless if you want a mega SUV or a truck.

The Cadillac Escalade prints money for GM because it’s world class. This thread is full of anti-American strivers who think driving some foreign car is the pinnacle of success and sophistication because at the end of the day you’re just insecure proletariat.

What does this mean? A class above. They are definitely not nicer. They are bigger for sure.

The verbatim quote from the review is, “Bottom Line: These three luxury SUVs are frankly all fabulous, and in this class the Detroit Three execs can legitimately claim supremacy over all their offshore competitors.”

Well, yeah, but they don't compare any of those to offshore competitors. They compare them to each other, in a size class that foreign cars don't typically compete in. An Escalade is almost 1,000 pounds heavier than the largest Lexus.

Yep there are no nice cars in old money Kalorama, McLean, Georgetown, Kent, Chevy Chase, Kenwood, and Edgemoor. Everyone drives decades-old Volvos.

In Russia the super rich all have Escalades. Why there is a thing called big snow storms and deep snow in their winters. The rich who could afford a Porsche, BMW, Rolls Royce find them pretty useless.

The also drive GMC Yukon XLs and Chevy Suburbans.

American cars give me too much trouble; I just want to get from point a to point b with the least number of problems in a car that will last for at least 10-15+ years.
