She is a terrible person, there is no excuse for her behavior at all. And all of the people that donated to her are racists. Sometimes there is no 'benefit of the doubt' to be had. I am sorry on behalf of American society.

That woman is a POS and the people giving her money are either dumb or racist, but I don't really get what the money for the boy's family is for. Being called a racist epithet is terrible but clearly his family and community have rallied around him to call this woman out, which is how something like this should be handled. But dies he have expenses related to this incident?

Not begrudging them the money -- people can give and if this family can take a nice vacation or pay off their mortgage, good for them. But it seems bizarre that we live in a world where (1) trash people call children racist names at playgrounds, AND (2) being called a racist name at a playground results in a huge financial windfall for your family. Just an extremely weird system we've set up here.

No what's crazy is that the account associated with the incident only has $80K~ in it, and the account for the garbage has close to $400K. That's the crazy here.

Oh and the account associated with the boy is raising money for the NAACP to aid in efforts to fight racism and bring justice for those hurt by it. To make the world a more just place for everyone. But I guess you just saw a black face, thought grifter black parents, and stopped reading. Or maybe you and some other folks need to read more.

They are not taking a vacation, but goodness, what if they did? What if this family who suffered a baseless attack also got to receive a gift that would bring joy? Wow! Terrrible!

• Legal advocacy, accountability, and restorative efforts, also in support of the child and family.

So the money will be used to work on the specific harm- counseling, maybe they will have to move, etc and the larger systemic problem. So relax, they're not getting goodies, just an attempt to restore damage and keep it from happening again.

Terrorizing a small child and their family with screaming and repeated use of a racial slur that goes along with violence is much more than name calling. You're either extremely ignorant or deliberately trying to minimize what that word means, especially in this context.
