The son is not sick. He was misguided and probably had a normal curiosity that teen boys have. Many kids have played these types of games, but in his case, it was not a game since the victims did not have equal power. He was a minor as were his victims. His parents took action (in their own way). All families have issues.
If I had to bet, easily 40% of our sons will/would act out in a bizarre sexual way if not properly educated (are you educating your sons and daughters?)

So "normal curiosity" in teen boys means fondling their sisters' vaginas and breasts? Is that what you reqally mean to say?

Living in such a sexually repressive household and culture, yes. Where masterbation, sex before marriage and what he did is on equal footing, yes.

The DUGGARs do not support child molestation.

Why do you claim that they do?

the answer is: you hate them and their values and their religion.

Which is unfair and mean.

Perhaps they do not support child molestation they just engage in it. They live it!

You are a sick piece of trash!!! Does this contribute ANYTHING to the conversation? No! Absolutely nothing but your hatred toward this family! You are soooo happy that this happened so you can come on an anonymous forum and participate in a hate-filled conversation about a family that you have never even met. You are sick and should spend some time thinking about why you are doing this. In the meantime, GFY you sick pig.

It is not a normal curiosity to touch your sister. My brother who is 6 years older never touched me. If this happened to you I am sorry and it wasn't your fault. If this had happened to me I know without a doubt my parents would have turned him in and gotten me counseling. Also my loving father who never raised a hand to us and worked day and night to do anything for us would have likely beat the shot out of him. Because that is the normal reaction to hearing your son molested your daughter.....Not "how can we protect him and our brand.

It is not normal if you live in a normal household, but Josh and the rest do not live in a normal household. Only side hugging and hand holding after engagement and nothing else until marriage!

GFY is "go fuck yourself."

Can any of the Duggar defenders here explain why Jim Bob didn't have his son put to death, since his campaign promised to make rape and incest capital crimes?

The parents should be jailed for creating the atmosphere that led to this. The children be given therapy as if they were coming out of a cult.

The Quiverfull movement does not value women. Its evident from all the focus on Josh, his forgiveness or his redemption. The girls do not matter to the parents or the members of this cult.

Women are sex slaves and baby makers. The movement adheres to an extreme patriarchy model. A girl is owned by her father until he finds a husband to take over her command. She has no freedom to choose her own path. She must obey every command given by them. She is not allowed to ever say no and must always be available - marital rape is the husband's right. She is told what to wear, is never allowed to work outside the home, and is not allowed to be educated on anything outside the approved curriculum for females.

If Josh had molested his younger brothers then they would have more of an issue with it but the girls are a different story.

Whether you support or loathe the Diggers it doesn't really matter at this point. Statue of limitations has run out. What does matter is the issue of cancellation. TLC set precedence with Honey Boo Boo, if they don't cancel the Duggars that will be the real controversy.

Then it is not "normal."

"Normal" means, many people do it as a part of expected course of events:

nor·mal
?nôrm?l/Submit
adjective
1.
conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
"it's quite normal for puppies to bolt their food"

What Josh Duggar did does not meet any definition of normal.

There's no indication that any other brothers in the family molested their sisters.

There's so much to unpack here. No one who opposes this dangerously kooky family takes any pleasure in the fact that at least five little girls were sexually assaulted. Many of us who oppose fundamentalist and patriarchal religions do not do so froma place of hate, but because we know - some of first hand - that this kind of terrible outcome is a natural consequence to fetishizing sex and religion. I think that many people like you held the feeling that these were good, traditional values folks just living their religion, especially if you never looked very closely at their religious beliefs and their politicking. I think it's very hard for some of you to realize that we "insane" "foaming at the mouth" "hate-filled" "libtards" (and I'm quoting several PPs for this wondrously open-minded namecallin, not just you) are right that this kind of religion is toxic to everyone, and perhaps we're right about other social issues, too. That's got to be hard for you. Well, this "libtard" will be here to listen to you as you unpack this and discover.

Thanks

Thank YOU, Smear Campaign chairwoman and control freak.

You are quite welcome! Just so you know, when you projectile vomit all your stupidity into the other thread it is going to get reported and deleted. So you are better off defending child molesters, child pornographers and cult leaders in this thread. You know so your special brand is.crazy can be documented for prosperity.

Hope that helps.

Therefore: Not normal curiosity. Molestation, yes - normal curiosity, no.
