DC isn't exactly the epicenter of the Duggar demo, so they are trolling out of the bible belt to boost? It's so weird. I just cannot fathom anyone in their right mind defending what this family does, and how they earn their money. Seriously, some of these posts are abso-fucking-lutely insane.

News flash:

Many Americans all over the country, and in Wash, DC, support the Duggar family.

Only left minded mean bitches are tearing this family apart because they don't agree with the family's religion. Their posts are abso-fucking-lutely insane.

Does anyone know when the Duggars left their church to do their own home church thing?

I'm not trying to spread untrue rumors but I've heard men involved in their church were involved in sexual abuse claims (or was it their homeschool curriculum brand?). *this might not be true, interested in reputable links*

This might be far fetched but I'm wondering if maybe Josh was molested by a pastor at church and maybe that's why they left?

I work in social services. I am not impressed with professional "child counseling."

I think religious counseling can be just as effective, esp. for a religious family. This is why many people seek out the advice of their pastors and religious leaders, etc.

By the way, I am not religious, but I think a lot of psychology is bunk...We are all human. the Duggars got someone to talk to Josh. He had daily counseling in the form of his religion.

Again, how many ways are there to say to him: "Josh, this was wrong; it was harmful; don't do it again." he has learned this lesson over and over and over.

Why does he need a PHD person to give him this lesson? why not a pastor? Same Diff really and truly. and because he is religious and so is his family, the religious moral lesson will probably stick with him.

At 14, Josh already knew it was wrong, yet he chose to do it. He needed more than that. Explore why he did it to get to the root of the issue.

Josh has not re-offended. The sisters seem okay. Josh also survived and has a family of his own. What -- he should be thrown in jail for life? Killed? What?

What the heck is it that you all want from this family?

It is as if you are all saying - ha ha ha they are a bunch of idiots and deserve all this.

Bad stuff happens in the best of families.

This family handled it well.

Leave them alone.

They handled it well, huh? Seriously, all the discussion about religion and political involvement avoids the central question. If someone molested your daughter would you think it sufficient for that person to go work construction for a few months and get a stern talking to? If you separate out everything else and answer that question honestly I think you will see beyond the noise and understand what the furor is all about.

I would like to hear one supporter answer that question honestly.

After you get the restful night's sleep you are so desperately in need of, please read up about the Quiverfull cult and share which parts of their anti-women, anti-child, anti-pretty much everything decent you think are so great.

Everyone is having fun flaming this family, which I think is unfair.
The son is not sick. He was misguided and probably had a normal curiosity that teen boys have. Many kids have played these types of games, but in his case, it was not a game since the victims did not have equal power. He was a minor as were his victims. His parents took action (in their own way). All families have issues.
If I had to bet, easily 40% of our sons will/would act out in a bizarre sexual way if not properly educated (are you educating your sons and daughters?)

Um, no. I don't think lots of teen boys do this kind of thing. I think it's rare that a teenage boy looks to his younger sisters to satisfy curiosity and would much more likely do things like sneak peaks at porn.

I will say that I think it could be entirely possible give the way he was brought up and the curriculum they used for school and the whole teachings of their religion that he might not have actually understood it was wrong because it appears from the teachings of their religion that maybe the religion implied this was ok. If you look at the leader of the church who was Gothard he was all for engaging in these kind of activities.

So "normal curiosity" in teen boys means fondling their sisters' vaginas and breasts? Is that what you reqally mean to say?

Please comment here though, one troll already popped over there and that is for discussing and posting news and information. It is why we asked for it.

Thanks

I said it earlier in he thread: I think it's a safe bet that some of you defenders of this incestuous sexual assault of pre-pubescent children have a personal history of same in your family. Just so you know, it is not normal, and if you were the victim, you didn't do anything wrong.

I have no doubt that there are people in the LGBT who are a danger to children. Because they are pedophiles and abusers. What no one can dispute though is that Bill Gothard, Josh Duggar and Joseph Hutchins are irrefutably a danger to children.

I agree. The molestation statistics are shockingly high, especially among lower-class, poorly-educated families.
