Yes, exactly what we had during Trump administration. We all was without books, public schools were shot down, no single divorce was granted in 4 years, no healthcare. Is it you, knucklehead Tim trying to fix your failure performance?

I thought he came off very slick, his facial expressions just a tad smug, bordering on know-it-all, with a whiff of condescension. It was totally apparent this is a guy who knows how to do PR on the fly. Rewriting Trump's actions in the telling, with such easy-breezy confidence was infuriating. Maybe that's the benefit of Yale law school training.

Usha was heavily involved in preparing him to debate. It is refreshing to hear highly educated people speaking in public.

So I bet you love hearing Obama talk

I LOVE Obama! Vance speech and presentation was at his level. Walz was not.

Yes Vance was really that good.

Poised and articulate like Obama.

I swear I did not expect to come off liking this guy who has been the butt of jokes the last one month.

Agree. And I was pretty confused why Trump would even pick him. But now I see. He was excellent and didn’t come off as slick or smug at all. He came off as poised, articulate, and cool under pressure. As if he could deal with World leaders with ease and not be a push over. Walz did seem like a great person, but all the agreeing with Vance made him look like a pushover. He would do the US no favors in negotiations

He literally lied on just about every response. How is that presidential?

Sadly, “literally lying on just about every response” is a key character strength in Trump’s view. That’s likely Trump’s key vetting question a person willing to lie for him, especially a VP.

+1

Republicans love their liars.

The vibe from Vance was weird guy holding himself tightly in check to present as a calm, polite, rational conservative. Anyone who has not been exposed to the clips of the real Vance might be deceived.

He is also much younger than ol’ man Walz. I just wonder if Vance might hold back due to respect for someone so much older than himself?

Vance was just like Obama: smooth, polished and very well put together in his appearance and in his thoughts. Out of four of them, he is the most presidential unfortunately.

Smooth speaking matters not at all when you lie.

People were ready to overlook many of Obama's lies just to get him in the office. I voted for him twice and will gladly vote for Vance just to have civility back in the WH.

You’re effing joking, right?

Does this person not realize Trump will be the one in the WH?

Trump is not going to make it in a next four years, it will be either Vance or Harris.

Let me get this math right:

Harris is "less civil" than 2 years of Trump lies/insults + 2 years of Vance sweet-talking lies?

Harris is dumb and dangerous. Vance is smart and civil. Period.

Oh come on. He cannot even admit Trump lost. He is a turd.

You can put eyeliner on a turd, but it's still a turd.

Here are Governor Walz and JD before they gave interviews after:

JD looks like he’s sizing us up for the most sedating but not fatal dose of something to put in our drinks.

Lying slickly is not a positive attribute, and that’s all JD did.

You can also tell when Vance is lying he is not endearing to me. Why they are so resistant on accepting Trump‘s defeat is beyond me. It would almost be better if they accepted it and say yes, he lost, but we’re moving towards the future and we want to win the next election. It’s not hard.

My take away is all politicians every single one of them is lying.

Walz "misspoke" about his time in Asia 35 years ago.
Vance lied about his stance on abortion, healthcare and democracy.

Both sides!

Funny how that works.

Meanwhile, Tim Walz has his own subreddit that is a love letter of sorts. He may not be smooth, but Walz is the epitome of likeable.

Vance definitely won this heart, and I wasn’t expecting to like him.

He is hot, I am sure he won a lot of suburban white moms hearts too.

Hot? Maybe in a date rapey way...

I actually had to turn it off because JD’s smooth, soulless lies made me feel so gross.

I wish Walz has been himself, is generally so warm and witty. Bummer to see him be so nervous and awkward. He did settle down after the first few questions, handled the substance just fine, and concluded wonderfully with the most essential point. I didn't see much substance to Vance, especially since he bent over backwards to (lie) agree with Walz on so many things.

Yeah, I feel gross whenever I see him perform his pre-determined rota of lies. Zero integrity. Zero.

That’s not what they said. And “the whole Washington Post!” isn’t really a link, bub.
