After watching felon-in-chief and sex offender Trump in Michigan insisting over and over again that he won the 2020 election, I'd be mad if he becomes my President again.

Trump Rally in Michigan Dominated by More False Statements
Appearing for roughly 85 minutes onstage, the Republican nominee repeated false claims about the 2020 election and introduced a mischaracterization about disaster-relief money.

Former President Donald J. Trump held a rally on Thursday in the key battleground state of Michigan that was notable mainly for his continued false statements and exaggerations on a number of subjects as varied as the 2020 election and the federal government’s response to Hurricane Helene.

In the roughly 85 minutes that Mr. Trump was onstage, he repeated a pattern of untrue assertions that have characterized many of his events as the 2024 presidential race heads into its final weeks. The crowd of supporters in Saginaw County, which he narrowly lost four years ago, included Mike Rogers, the former Michigan congressman and the Republican candidate for Michigan’s open Senate seat, and Pete Hoekstra, the Michigan Republican Party chairman.

Mr. Trump reiterated his familiar false claim that he had won the 2020 election and made no acknowledgment of new evidence that was unsealed against him on Wednesday in the federal election subversion case. He also said his campaign was up in all polls in every swing state, while several public polls show close races and Vice President Kamala Harris leading narrowly in a number of battlegrounds.

Mr. Trump also mischaracterized the state of funding at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, saying that the Biden administration had stolen disaster-relief money allocated to the agency to give to housing for undocumented immigrants so they would vote for Democrats.

It’ll be a banner day if the NYT can ever bring itself to use the verb: to lie.

They need to review George Orwell’s advice on writing about politics.

It is a memorable event. Very memorable regardless of when it took place.

Either you were there or you weren't. Weird.

It’s like saying you were at the World Trade Center on 9/11….but you were actually in Minnesota.

He’s a compulsive liar.

He does have a problem telling the truth.

And that’s a problem for any prospective VPOTUS.

I don't think Republicans sound credible when they pretend to be upset about Walz telling a few lies over a decade of time. What about all of Vance's recent and ongoing lies??? Vance lied multiple times during the VP debate alone over a period of 2 hours onstage, we don't need to comb through years and years of clips.

Vance lied about Trump peacefully transitioning power (there is video evidence of Trump inciting a mob, and unsealed evidence released yesterday adds more proof).
Vance lied about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, OH being "illegals" (he was fact-checked on stage, they are there legally)
Vance lied about never endorsing a national abortion ban (he's on audio saying he would like to have a national abortion ban)
Vance lied about Trump supporting and being responsible for the successful passing of Obamacare/ACA (lots of evidence of Trump going on record saying he campaigned vehemently against it and wanted it defeated)

Vance is the one who lies over and over again to rewrite history. If you care about lying, you'd hate Vance more. Vance's record is one of the worst among politicians. It wouldn't take much effort to outline the several hundred lies Vance has told - including countless in his "Hillbilly Elegy" book that people from his community said was full of lies and embellishments.

So do you really care about lying or compulsive lying? Because there are far more instances of Trump & Vance lying than Walz.

Hard agree. Vance was a lying machine on that debate stage. It was almost sociopathic how Vance could so effortlessly lie with a straight face and be so unbothered. It takes real audacity and arrogance to publicly lie about facts that could easily be looked up and proven false. His words are not his bond. He'll say anything to create a false image and seize power.

facts

Every single word out of mouth is a lie. He always answers a question with a question. He still cannot say trump lost the 2020 election. He won’t even come clean about eating dogs.

He is such an a$$. He is such a horrible human. I fear him becoming President if Trump drops dead.

Vance is just mean. He managed to restrain himself from sounding like a total d*** for part of the debate, but now that's it over, he's reverted to being nasty and spewing lies just like Trump.

If Walz is a compulsive liar not fit for office, what does that make Trump?

Stolen valor Walz?

Command Sargaent Major/not so Command Sargaent Major Walz???

debunked.

next?

No, none of it was debunked. None of it.

He was awarded the rank but didn't do the coursework to retire with it. Big deal, no one cares, particularly in context of President Bonespurs.

He actually served at the rank but technically wasn't supposed to use it after retirement because of the coursework issue.

Josh Shapiro would have done infinitely better, and he happens to be from the state that will likely decide the election. I can’t fathom why he wasn’t selected as VP, other than blatant prejudice within the party. I will either stay home or I will hold my nose and vote for Trump, but no way will I vote for her.

OK but we are NOT TALKING about Trump. It's not a if one person does this - but let's not talk about it because we have something worse to talk about. If a person does X - they have done X. It does not make X go away. I don't understand Dems who keep deferring to how evil Trump/Vance is (I totally think they are evil yes) so that somehow absolves any wrong doing of every single kind from Walz/Harris. I mean the way some folks would have it - NOTHING EVER that the Dems do is worthy of a conversation about it not being successful, correct, perfect. I get that GOP sucks and I get that Trump is a disaster but the biggest issue of why Dems had Hilary who couldn't beat him the first time is they focus totally on the other candidate. Calling the other person the worst person on earth does not make your person the best person on earth. It may be totally true that your person is better, but you have to stick with the facts for why your person is better!

Walz is better because he has a soul, heart and brains.

JD hates women, children and democracy, plus he’s dumb as a stump.

Anyone with an average iq who watched the debate knows Vance is a highly intelligent, well educated man. To deny that is ridiculous. You don’t like his opinions , so you say he’s dumb. I guarantee he’s got a higher iq than you, me, or Walz, and is more educated as well.

Excuse me, there are plenty of us with high IQs on here; fancy degrees from selective institutions around the world; and/or PhDs, MDs, other accolades, and the wide and deep knowledge base to match.

I agree with you that Vance is highly intelligent, well read and quick-witted. Unfortunately he has not used that intelligence for the good of the country. He has debased himself to a serial liar and grifter he himself despises, in his pursuit of influence and wealth. Like his tech bro mentors, he's relishes taking risk: he saw a shortcut to the Presidency, and he took it, regardless of what sins he might have to commit to get there. He's the epitome of greed and opportunism.

A disgusting personage, truly.

The comment I was responding to was a disgruntled democrat lying about Vance and declaring Vance was dumb. They stated that Vance was “dumb as a stump.”

Vance is not dumb at all. He exhibited great intelligence at the debate and is a skilled communicator. He also displayed emotional maturity and showed he has an even temper, even during a debate with a political opponent.

To deny Vance’s intelligence is ridiculous. Yet many here do.

What you are doing is pretending politicians (except Vance) are a class of warm hearted empaths that care nothing about their political power and personal wealth.

You will have to find some naive adults or children to sell that wholly imagined fairy tale to. If someone is posting here they probably know government workers, politicians, and elected officials. You are wasting everyone’s time by trying to jam rose colored glasses over our eyes. It’s laughable.

Please try to convince me the earth is flat, we never landed on the moon, the Easter bunny shot JFK, etc. All those concepts are more believable than “politician good except for Trump and Vance.” My father was a moderately successful elected official and lifelong political animal. I have seen how the sausage is made. Let me tell you: Boar’s Head factories have nothing on politicians.

Not interested in Vance’s intelligence. What he does as a potential president scares the hell out of me.

You are scared to live in America and have a man with different political beliefs and opinions than yours being elected president? That sounds like a you problem. It’s democracy for the rest of us.

As a woman, yes.

Harris supporter. Disappointed in Walz performance but doesn’t change my vote. He’s a bad debater, good legislator and governor.

Debating is a bunch of words. For Vance, many of those words were lies.

Governing is taking action. It’s fine if you don’t agree with waltz policies, but he knows how to govern. Vance has done nothing and I certainly wouldn’t want him a hamburger away from the Oval Office.

It’s no surprise. AIPAC elected 1/6 Trumpsters in 2022. Many Jews would rather have the ails of Trump in the US to protect Israel. They're funding him, and it scarily looks like he’ll win. Maybe Israel will save us by not accepting our $3B annually when half the country is swallowed up by a natural disaster.

The shilling and corny memes for Vance during and after the debate is all paid astroturfing. Nobody likes this repulsive worm.

Yep! Unfortunately, MAGA voters don't consider this.

I was surprised the moderators didn’t even ask Vance about his experience level to become president of the United States if something happens to Trump. He has a few years of military service, a few years at Peter Thiel’s hedge fund, a year or two at a law firm and a short tenure as a United States senator. Zero managerial experience but I guess in Trump world that doesn’t matter.

Didn’t matter when it was Obama.
