Bought a Tesla now I hate it and want to get rid of it but will lose money on it

Anonymous
I loathe this car now thanks to Musk and now I’m going to be underwater on it if I sell it now because literally no one wants to be caught dead in one these days. So I’m going to practically have to give it away to get rid of it and take probably ten-plus thousand dollar upside down loss on it. But Teslas are also horribly dangerous right? They catch fire All. The. Time. So if it happened to catch fire insurance would cover it. Do they investigate cars that catch fire or are they too busy for that kind of thing?

Nearly every one of them was purchased before all of this started. I would just keep driving it and not buy another one.

Just put an anti musk bumper sticker on it and keep driving it.

insurance doesn't always cover a 100% of the loss not do I recommend committing insurance fraud.

They catch fire especially when they are plugged in at your home. New car plus new construction house or all your major renovations done for free! Win!

Well with deregulation and the removal of the CFPB insurance will not cover anything.

Sure it will just take 2 years and you will have to pay for two houses for that time.

Musk bought a million dollar car and totaled it before he bought insurance coverage. (Yes, it's also a metaphor for our current government.)
Anyway, now he's a half trillionaire.
Eat the loss and focus on the future.

Insurance company has $100K+deterrent worth of motivation to investigate fraud.

I don't feel bad for you. Musk has been awful for a long time. He's anti-union and plays fast and loose with worker and consumer safety. Did you buy one if the very first Teslas? I bet not. You knew what he was.

The issue is that now your Tesla doesn't read as "I'm a good person" to your peer group. That's a you problem.

But no, I don't think you should commit insurance fraud to recoup the costs in your stupid car.

Still makes you look like a gullible patsy.

Sell yours to a MAGADOGE megadouche.

+1. I’m amazed at all the people with Tesla’s who are JUST NOW realizing this. The guy has been a POS for years.
