"Department of Justice will work with the Department of Education to issue directions..."

Trump will severely hinder if not get rid of the Dept of Education.

The red states will get dumber.

Colleges in blue states (especially the private ones) will thrive. Think Massachusetts.

The elite colleges will continue to admit diverse classes.

Life goes on in USNWR 100.

Meh. What’s going to change? The red state public universities will continue to admit their diverse student body. There will be no difference.

I can see the DOJ suing private universities for promoting “lived experiences”

Not sure there's an argument in that.

But that was explicitly permitted by the Supreme Court.

It's the right thing to do. They better do it!

I’m the PP and I take this back, in part. My red state public university has a wide variety of student clubs centered around ethnicity and country of origin. I don’t think they’re exclusive in any way and anyone can join. I would hate to see those students have to dissolve the clubs that far predate any government DEI initiatives.

The diverse student body won’t change but the university would feel the loss of the clubs it has always supported.

Thats silly. Lived experience is what contributes to who we are. For example, a student demonstrating grit by overcoming homelessness or poverty is a lived experience. Why should that not be shared? Because that might give them a boost over student from a wealthy family in a private high school with well funded research opportunities and test prep? Please...

Def take the gender out of that and make it women’s studies.

But I can see Afam Studies and ethnic studies go away easily
