Hoping to get some insights
I am very happy with my body and would like to get strong and build strength and stamina. I have free weights, barbell, row machine, mat, bands and a ball. Any tips on a exercise plan I can follow? Can't make it to the gym as I have a toddler. Currently I am just winging it. Thanks |
Lifetime has day care. May be consider it? It can't be easy for you not to wing it with a toddler. You could take strength and recovery classes. |
20 vinyasas a day. And if your toddler hangs out under your down dog like mine did you have to hold the position. Your arms will thank me |
I’m using Peleton strength app. It designs workout based on your own equipment. |
I’m doing apple fitness plus. Good luck! |
Caroline Girvan. She has a bunch of programs either free on youtube or with paid app. She got me strong at mid-50s and post menopause. |
Ladder app! Google promo codes and you can try 30 days free. Most plans you can easily modify to use the equipment you listed. It's the first program I've used at home for strength training and conditioning that I've really connected with, and I have peloton and have tried a bunch of other youtube programs. |
I'm just here to say it's really great to hear a woman say she's very happy with her body. Oh that we all could feel that way! |
Barre3 in Bethesda has childcare and my kiddo loved going! Often during the week, she was the only kid there, so had some one-on-one time with fun, caring folks.
But at home, the Peloton app is great for strength, yoga, pilates, barre, often without any equipment needed! |
Looks promising! Which of the programs is a good one to start with? |
Different poster here, but Iron on YouTube is popular for beginners. I started with the 24 days of Christmas and really liked it; I'm now doing Iron, which I don't like as much because the videos are a little longer than my 30-minute lunch break, but definitely liking how I feel AFTER. |
It depends on what you’re looking for. I like to do the 30 minute workouts. I’ve done Iron, Heat and now a Fuel/Iron hybrid. Iron is all lifting. Heat and Fuel have longer sets and more cardio and also a dedicated cardio/hiit day. |
Pilates and yoga classes. Join Lifetime or Equinox. |
But obviously she's not if she wishes she were toned/strong. |
If there was a pill to get tone/stronger I am sure everyone would take it like they do weight loss drugs. But even taking anabolic steroids requires you to exercise and lift weights to get stronger. Wanting to be more toned or stronger does not mean you do not like your body per se - just that you know you could look better and be healthier. Nothing wrong with that. |
