Inflexible rules and a rigid schedule aren't likely to bother him.

I'm sure in asking for a plea deal he'd already considered the prison lifestyle which he has been more or less experiencing for 2.5 years now. Prison actually offers more amenities in terms of programs, educational opportunities, etc. than county jail does so in some ways it will be an upgrade. I expect Kohberger will pass a lot of his time in prison lawyering considering his criminal justice background and interest in trying to outwit the police/state.

It doesn’t surprise me that he confessed to the killings…

I mean, the evidence was pretty good.
It was almost a guarantee that he would have been convicted of the heinous crime.

I still do wonder what his motive would have been.
Since the victims were all attractive and the killer is not, maybe he had some sick fantasies in his head.
Or perhaps one or more of the victims rejected or teased him at some point.

It is unlikely we will ever know…

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump chooses to pardon him afterward.

And the sad thing is that people would still support Trump even if he did this! 🤬

Conjecture over the years included this:
He was an incel. He was apparently overweight for a long time before losing weight and some bullying kind of stuck with him, in addition to being on the autism spectrum. He was also called out by others for being somewhat inappropriate to women as well- social skills issues, and who knows, some misogyny along with the neurodivergent stuff. He was obsessed with justice, hence the educational pursuit with it.

So, this young coed, I think one of them, seemingly rebuffed him overtly or covertly, and he was obsessed with revenge. He came for her and the other three were, sadly, just collateral.

If he had not left the knife sheath, he might never had been caught unless they were able to id the car, but even then there would not have been a direct link to him to hold up in court. He was such an unlikely suspect. But- had he done this before? That we may never know.

There's nothing about being a white nationalist in his profile. Doesn't matter now anyway.

How would that work?

I hate Trump as much as, or more than anyone, but he would never pardon a four time convicted murderer. Especially in a red state.

Presidents can only pardon Federal cases. This was an Idaho State case.

Continue to be shocked at the basic civics ignorance of posters on a board like DCUM.

Smells, noises, institutional food, proximity to so many other people...

You do understand that the posters here are highly educated?

Sure, but his weird demeanor is likely to be poorly received by those incarcerated with him.

The prisons aren't exactly populated with the well-regulated socially and mentally individuals.

I was interested to see what the defense would actually come up with- there was a lot of evidence against him. So, I guess everyone just knew all along that he did it. I also really wanted to know why he did it. What was the goal here? Did he have a mental illness? Was he obsessed? Why was he getting a PhD in criminology, but he was a criminal (?) Wondering if he commited any other crimes that he got away with. I wanted to hear from the defense witness- who was this person, someone pretty
unlikely to just walk in a house and murder a lot of people.

He’s a sadist and was probably obsessed with one of the girls (which is why he went straight upstairs). Followed her in social media, etc.

Some people get fixated on others. It’s jarring.

There isn’t some grand explanation beyond that.
