Here’s a comparison of Donald Trump’s current approval rating (as of mid-July 2025) with the last five U.S. presidents at a similar point in their terms (approximately six months into their first or second term), based on available data:

Donald Trump (2025, Second Term): ~39-43% approval, ~53-56% disapproval, net approval ~ -10 to -17.

Joe Biden (2021, First Term): ~53% approval, ~40% disapproval, net approval ~ +13.

Donald Trump (2017, First Term): ~38% approval, net approval ~ -14.
Barack Obama (2009, First Term): ~61% approval, net approval ~ +14.

George W. Bush (2001, First Term): ~55-57% approval, net approval ~ +20.

Bill Clinton (1993, First Term): ~48-50% approval, net approval ~ +5.

Summary: Trump’s current approval rating (39-43%) is lower than Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton at similar points in their presidencies, and slightly higher than his own first term (38%). His net approval remains negative, unlike the positive ratings of his predecessors, reflecting a polarized public response.

Not running for re-election. He doesn't care about the polls.

Of course he does. Every waking moment his day is about getting attention and approval from other people.

The MAGA House and Senate members running for re-election are going to suffer for it. Seems he doesn't care about them either.

1) do not like Trump's foreign policy
2) do not like his immigration policy
3) do not support the BBB
4) do not like his tax policy

So other than the "tough guy" rhetoric and pwning the libs, what is the appeal?

There’s no appeal, we all hate it here.

Pitiful man. I’m laughing at the neutral Transgender issues 0. I guess those pesky dozen or so trans aren’t destroying our democracy. Didn’t Trump campaign on that? How’s that going ‘murica?

Anyone who thought Trump wasn't going to be just as unpopular in his second term as Biden was or as he was in his 1st term has no clue how human nature works. 80 year old leopards don't change their spots. I kinda felt bad for some Dem politicians who lost elections in 2024 because of Biden's unpopularity but I won't feel bad for the GOP politicians losing upcoming elections because of Trump because many of them actually support Trump's existence as POTUS. They have it coming.

New CNN poll has Trump's approval on immigration absolutely tanking. It's down to 42-58. A 19-point net swing against him on this issue in just the last few months.

New Quinnipiac poll:

Trump approval cratering on immigration: 40-55

On deportations it's even worse: 38-59

He's not running for re-election.

Of course he will. He’s a narcissist and incapable of stepping aside and letting someone else grab the spotlight.

These numbers are only important to his ego.

In less than 12 months, they’ll be a lot more important than that.

If he is still alive, he will absolutely try to run.

We need him alive so he can be imprisoned. Innumerable crimes. Jack Smith will emerge from the dark fog. Case dismissed without prejudice was deliberate.

SCOTUS gave him absolute immunity. He is truly untouchable. Poor Nixon, if only he had this current SCOTUS, he would have never been impeached and would have retained his presidency.

Try, maybe. But he can’t.
