Checking in on the latest polls. It's only going to keep going down from here... Here’s a comparison of Donald Trump’s current approval rating (as of mid-July 2025) with the last five U.S. presidents at a similar point in their terms (approximately six months into their first or second term), based on available data: Donald Trump (2025, Second Term): ~39-43% approval, ~53-56% disapproval, net approval ~ -10 to -17. Joe Biden (2021, First Term): ~53% approval, ~40% disapproval, net approval ~ +13. Donald Trump (2017, First Term): ~38% approval, net approval ~ -14. Barack Obama (2009, First Term): ~61% approval, net approval ~ +14. George W. Bush (2001, First Term): ~55-57% approval, net approval ~ +20. Bill Clinton (1993, First Term): ~48-50% approval, net approval ~ +5. Summary: Trump’s current approval rating (39-43%) is lower than Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton at similar points in their presidencies, and slightly higher than his own first term (38%). His net approval remains negative, unlike the positive ratings of his predecessors, reflecting a polarized public response.
Anyone who thought Trump wasn't going to be just as unpopular in his second term as Biden was or as he was in his 1st term has no clue how human nature works. 80 year old leopards don't change their spots. I kinda felt bad for some Dem politicians who lost elections in 2024 because of Biden's unpopularity but I won't feel bad for the GOP politicians losing upcoming elections because of Trump because many of them actually support Trump's existence as POTUS. They have it coming.
