Seems highly doubtful. By all accounts so far, he was a nice guy.

According to his friends and the Commonwealth of VA JR met them on a fetish site and thought he was there for sex. LE calls him and CB "victims." LE has had his devices since this happened. If he was a bad actor they would know and would speak about him differently. He was lured and set up to be the fall guy.

^ thought he was there for consensual sex that CB may have been coerced into. VA clarified that f&tlife profile set up from Banfield home not by CB.

Regarding BB's father.... I don't think it was a case of him walking out on then. BB's mother is with a woman now so I believe it was a standard divorce.

I've yet to see anyone talk about BB in a positive way except CB and AP and AP just wanted his money and was psycho. She may have been jealous of a preschooler who just lost her Mom, at the hands of AP and BB. Birds of a feather as they say...

Her story and that of the state seem irreconcilable in key respects. Maybe she is a loon.

it was earlier on this thread. Guy was training him and said he knew bb was stealing from their bank (?) but couldn’t prove it.

I also knew BB personally about a decade ago and he actually bragged to me that he stole about 10k from a bank he was working at. He was positive he would never be caught because there was no proof. It was a Capital One if my memory serves me right.

Curious if you are a guy, PP?

I'm not a guy.

Also just to clarify (my comment was worded poorly), he was already working at the IRS when we spoke. This bank thing was probably prior to 2010.

This was my first thought when the AP was charged, but it does not seem that there is evidence to support that theory at this time.

There is a missing piece to the story for certain. If the police truly believe this was second degree murder by the AP that means that they don't have evidence that the AP shooting Ryan was premeditated/pre-planned. But the story the AP told the police and all that was related in court does not match up with this not being premeditated/pre-planned.

I think there is still something big missing - I'm just not sure what. I feel like it's possible Brendan Banfield planned to frame Ryan and the AP and daughter weren't supposed to be in the house? I don't know. All I do know is that Brendan Banfield and the AP are cold as ice.

For sure. The other interesting thing from the bond hearing is that the Au pair’s attorney said he’s been asking for her things back (from police) since this summer. So, contrary to what AP told her mother (the case being closed and LE not considering her as a suspect), she’s had legal counsel since at least this summer. Seems like if she wasn’t involved at all, she would have been pushing her attorney this summer to get LE off her back so she could leave the US and move on with her life.

Other posts in this thread have said that he now works for the FBI. Do you know if that’s true, or is/was he still working for the IRS earlier this year?

I ask because the FBI requires polygraphs. How would stealing 10K be something one could hide in the course of the security interview, background investigation, and poly? Seems like that or instances of criminal behavior, or just being the kind of person people didn’t really trust, would have prevented a security clearance.

What? Why would it even come up? He was never caught, he wasn’t being investigated for it, so it would not be on the questions? I’m not trying to be rude, but have you ever had a poly? It’s not like confessing your sins and tell them everything terrible you’ve ever done!

The latest news report from after the bond hearing describes him as an IRS agent.

Yes, I’ve had a poly, with the FBI. The security interview before the poly was *exactly* like confessing everything terrible I’ve ever done.
