Culture War and the death of “Woke”

In 1980, Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter in a landslide victory. America was coming off a long period of chaos with the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, the attempt to get the ERA passed, a bunch of politicial assassinations, inflation, and watergate and America deciding to make a clear hard swing to the right.
I think this is what we are experiencing now. I don’t think it mattered all that much who the democratic candidate was. We have just had COVID, Inflation, BLM Riots, conflicts in the Middle East, High Crime, Trans Issues, and the whole Male Loneliness / men falling behind thing. America has decided that they don’t want it and have brought Trump in to “right the cultural ship”. Kamala Harris is Walter Mondale in the second election if Reagan(who had a female running mate). He lost every state except Minnesota and DC |

When Clinton was president, the right was obsessed with Political Correctness.
Once GWB was elected in his surprise victory? We never heard rants about Political Correctness again. It magically disappeared from the zeitgeist. The same will happen with “Woke” within the next two years. It will disappear as Republicans try to grapple with power and f#cking up. |
