Is your neighborhood mixed R and Ds?

If so do the neighbors interact with each other? Do you invite the opposite party into your house or for block parties? My neighborhood is pretty straight D (based on the signs) but there is always a random Trump sign out in someone's yard. I always wonder once people put up their Trump sign if they continue to be invited to neighborhood things or if they are slowly phased out. We actually don't have anybody on our street/neighborhood we are close to that is a Trumper but if we did have a neighbor who had a Trump sign I could continue to be courteous to them if I saw them but definitely not invite them to our house for events. FWIW we are a mixed race house and I do not let racists into my house.

Yes, we have R's and D's on our block including current Hill staffers and former Clinton appointees.

None of them are Trump supporters, so yes, everyone gets along.

The best neighborhood I lived in had 75% Bernie and 25% Trump signs. Everyone hated the Clintons and the uniparty. It was not in DC and everyone couldn’t stand DC people.

I would be courteous but not close.

DH dropped a long time friend for supporting Trump. I thought that was a bit much of him to do that early on (it happened just after the election), but he said that he could not in good conscience continue a relationship where the person supports someone and their policies that seem racist and anti-poor people immigrants.

We are a biracial family full of immigrants (including him), where my side is from a former sh*thole country. My parents are uneducated and at one time, had to go on food stamps. When Trump said, "why do we let in people from sh*thole countries".. he was referring to people like my family. In hindsight, if we had kept that relationship, not sure how I could look those people in the eyes and not wonder if they think my family should not have been allowed here.

Bernie backed HRC, and Harris.

Yes, but these same people didn’t have HRC signs up. The neighborhood full of rich people a mile or two away did though. No Bernie or Trump signs there and nothing but HRC.

Some put up the "popular" yard sign/s to deter certain types of people, e.g. let's put up that orangehead sign so his orange supporters won't go there, or when people started placing BLM in their yard. Can't tell if those residents are àctually supporting the cause or candidate or trying to keep people off their yard.??

Mostly communist-light/democrat where I live. Many of them ask my H to help them with various household/car repair stuff they can’t handle themselves… but oddly never offer to do anything for us.

Weird huh?

I'm a lifelong Dem but have several long-term friends who are Republicans. None of them currently support Trump. They just can't, especially after Jan 6th and how he treated his VP Pence.

They support Trump and they probably voted for him again this week.

They’re just telling you what you want to hear so you don’t become unhinged.

This is why you don’t see many Trump signs. It’s only socially acceptable to say you are voting for Harris, especially if you live in either a split or liberal area.

So assume of the neighbors that don’t have any signs out at all, probably a good portion are voting for Trump, regardless of what they publicly say or don’t say

The majority of yards in my neighborhood do not have any political signs. I just got back from a walk around my neighborhood and I'd guess only about 10% of the houses had a sign. I don't personally know the residents of those homes. It's a pretty even mix of Trump and Harris.

My street is 12 houses. There are about 4 houses with Trump signs
No Harris signs.
The Harris supporters quietly go about our day, this isn’t our identity. But there are 3 houses that I know are Harris voters.

Live in Georgetown area - a few Harris signs, but mostly no signs. There's lots of "quiet Republicans" in this neighborhood.

Tbh, no one talks politics and not many advertise their views.

This is a big contrast to when we go into NoVa for activities. Tons of Trump & Walz signs. It seems that Trump houses insist on putting up 5+ signs on their property; big overcompensating vibes. Lots of single Harris signs on lawns.
