My husband occasionally yells at me. How common is this? |
| I don’t know how common it is, but it’s unacceptable. |
| No, my husband has literally never yelled at me. It’s not okay, OP. |
| No, but he can get generally louder when excited or agitated about things that are good or bad. |
| If I am upstairs, sure |
| Not really. Maybe if we are in a bad fight. So maybe 2 times a year, if that? I probably yell at him about twice that. |
|
No not really.
Some of the dh’s on this board seem awful. Yelling, gaslighting. Not doing anything at home. So sad
|
| No. |
| No, never. That's abuse (and obviously calling out from the other side of the house to ask if you've seen their blue shirt doesn't count as yelling...) |
| Either of us sometimes yells to be heard over music or from a distance, but even then there's usually a "you should have just come closer instead of yelling" exchange. |
| No, more like silent treatment. He was an Aspie. |
| Absolutely not. |
| no! |
|
Yes. But more frequently, whenever I ask for his help, he reflexively adopts an irritated, demeaning tone - despite my pointing it out. I don't think he can help himself. He's not patient, and he can't adapt to someone else's communication style. From my point of view, it's incredibly disrespectful.
One of the many reasons I'm leaving him. |
| No. That's not okay---don't tolerate it. |
