African countries are now banning EU tourists and visitors. Africa (and South America if they do the same) seems to be coming out of this pandemic ahead.

We cancelled our spring break trip to Spain. Postponed for christmas. |
This. We need to practice social distancing, and this includes funerals. Any gathering of people with close contact like this with lots of people--community transmission. |
Would you drive to Kiawah?
I know the answer is no. That was our back up back up plan. We have flights to Florida that I want to cancel but can't cancel online and don't have time to be on hold for an hour. This was already rebooked from our international spring break. Maybe that is why I can't cancel online. |
We’re cancelling our spring break cruise. My spouse has terminal lung cancer and this was going to be our last big family trip with the kids and little grandkids. But no way are we getting on a plane or cruise ship any time soon. My spouse is sad, but it’s just the best decision. I wish everyone would just stop flying unless it’s necessary.
Personally, I wouldn’t go to a funeral right now, I wouldn’t plan a funeral right now either. I would wait and have a memorial service later and have a private burial. Funerals are for the living anyway. It’s common sense. |
Listen, I get cruises are ABOVE your station in life, but thousands and thousands of people all over the world enjoy them. Yes, cancel them until this is fully under control, but forever is just stupid. In 10 cruises, on different lines, I have never become sick nor has anyone with me. We just practice good hygiene and wash our hands frequently. |
I would not go. A week from now things will probably be worse. Plan a visit when this is over and perhaps spend extra time visiting with any family there. If your aunt had a spouse, perhaps he/she or family would need help with things that can’t be done until later and your postponed visit would be welcomed. It shouldn’t break your heart, your aunt won’t know the difference. And if you go, please do not hug or kiss anyone. I’m sorry for your loss. |
I don’t understand this compulsive desire to go SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE. If you are so rich, surely you have a nice home too. It won’t kill you to stay there for a little while. This is all unprecedented. |
The family wedding Im supposed to go to next week is still on. I feel horrible if I dont go, but I feel like my hands are tied. I wish there would be mandatory rescheduling for these type of events from the actual venues or states/cities. |
Someone I know is flying to the Caribbean with his wife next week for about 5 days. Is this crazy or NBD? |
They are bad for several reasons. The main reasons are that they are perfect conduits to spread diseases but worst of all, they are horrible for the environment. |
The Caribbean isnt the problem, its people from the US who will spread it to the Caribbean unfortunately. |
Maybe this "someone" will arrive at the airport and be told to get their ass back on the plane and go home? |
Your hands are not tied. You cannot depend on the bride and groom who are too in love and consumed with themselves right now to think about your welfare or the welfare of the guests. Should they? YES. But they are currently in their little love bubble and feel together they can conquer anything so even a freaking pandemic is not going to wake them up. |
So are airplanes, but I don’t see you asking to ban those. You just think you’re so above it all. |
