I personally would go to a funeral.

I would literally drive to the funeral and back. You could drive there without stopping.

Yeah that’s what I thought, ended up canceling earlier this evening. Hopefully American will refund airfare but more upset about the fact that we’re not going to South America.

I agree. I probably would try not to touch the older folks but I come from a very touchy culture so that's not easy!

Supposed to be leaving for the Bahamas on Wednesday, where there are currently no known cases of Covid. We are going for my dad's 70th birthday. He and my mom are in good health thankfully, and they are also both doctors. They feel there is no reason to cancel and my dad wants to go to celebrate his birthday because he wants his whole family to be together (we are all in different states).

Are we crazy to go?

I personally wouldn't want to take the risk of my parents in their 70's getting sick there.
Also, I know they need tourists but these types of travels might be what BRINGS COVID-19 to Bahamas..

They have banned travel from Italy and China as far as I know, not sure about others like S. Korea, Australia, etc.

Why are theses weddings and funerals, just not being live-streamed?

Especially the weddings. Even movie premieres are being delayed to avoid large gatherings. These people going on with their weddings and expecting guests to attend are classic selfishness..aka bride/groomzilla.

I wouldn't go to a funeral now. I wouldn't want people coming to mine. The virus doesn't care why people are gathering. There are a lot of ways to honor someone who has passed, and putting yourself and others at risk is not a good one.

Dr. Fauci said he wouldn’t fly for pleasure right now. Your parents being doctors are irrelevant unless they are epidemiologists or virologists.
