The real question is which of Stars or Pride will first beat a deflated M&D team.

Which MD team is most vulnerable for an upset?

Seems that MDU lost the most - losing a really good player who was essential to the offense. Hero’s roster is posted and I think I recognize an MDU name there, so it could be a bad situation for MDU. If you read another message board there is chatter that M&D did not fare well this summer either. Hero’s is good and Coppermine will destroy everything in its path. So, I’d say MDU is most vulnerable followed by M&D.

So basically it is Coppermine alone at the top and the rest of the MD teams will fight it out for second place?

Yes; Coppermine went from clear number one to totally dominant. Only question is how they will give everyone enough time with the ball.

Hero's clear number 2.

Crush hung together well.

M&D will rally. MDU has the biggest challenges.

I would say Sky Walkers or Pride might sneak by MDU.

I am not convinced M&D will rally. They lost a top middie to Coppermine? Other board does not indicate they gained enough to compensate for the middie loss if that is indeed true.

Nobody seems to be disputing the loss of the top M&D middie to Coppermine, including the M&D fanboys on this forum.

The stupidity never ends from people here.

A middie from M&D left and went to Coppermine. I don't know what category people place kids in, but if you are good enough to make either team, you are a good player. A middie from Coppermine left and went to M&D, as well as girls from other top clubs. The MDU middie left and went to Coppermine. There's player movement all over and girls choose the best fit.

As the PP from MDU stated, they had a strong tryout and will still compete. Parents should spend Less time concerned on what teams your child can't make and more about getting them better and being happy.

M&D has/had some elite players. Your daughter plays for M&D. Therefore, she is elite. Do I have that right?

Both of you sound like jerks with the snark.

Let me summarize your key points without it: both M&D and MDU had big tryouts and have options to maintain their positions.

I agree on M&D. No need to deny the middie who moved on was a key player, while emphasizing that the M&D system involves many players and options and can adjust and overcome. The bigger question for M&D is how they went from losing by 1 to Coppermine on 7/9, to going 0-3-1 at Mid-Atlantic--tying and losing to teams they normally would dominate. That has to be an effort or morale issue, as the talent is there. Coaches will need to figure that out.

I disagree on MDU. The two players they lost scored the majority of their goals, and the offense and clears ran through them. That is much harder to replace. You simply don't replace one of the very best players in the country at an open tryout, and I doubt they did. They have a tougher road to maintain their position in the Mid-Atlantic pecking order.

Though I'm sure there were many reasons, the middie who left M&D partially did so due to feeling dissatisfied with PT and role. That alone tells you that it will not ding M&D nearly as much as people want to imply. As far as MDU goes, they have some really talented girls on their offense who may now be able to step out of the shadow of a player who the team ran everything through since these kids were little. This is not a knock of the player who left, she's great and she can't help that, but I do wonder what the sum of these other girls coming together to work as a team might look like. Seems like the biggest need for adjustment will be on the coaches who can no longer rely on one or two girls.

I am having trouble making sense of M&D middie feeling dissatisfied with PT and role and deciding to solve this problem by moving to Coppermine, who already has a murderers row of middies. Help me out on this one if someone can.

She’s going to play attack.

Neither, but when they come together they will destroy M and D.

When stars & pride combine their super powers good things will happen. The ball will be thrown out of bounds 40 percent less.

I’m not a Stars parent. However, ❤️

For Pride, I think the answer is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Current and prospective players are hoping to receive final word before the first games.

Pride parents have no idea except for chatter on message boards. One Pride player left for a MD club. Nothing else has been reported or communicated. Perhaps the Stars parents who have seen the new roster can break some news for the Pride parents if there were defections.

I assume you know what team your daughter is on (Red/White), but the actual roster has not been communicated?

I know we talk trash to each other and give each other grief about everything, but I’m sorry your daughters Still don’t know. That’s not fair to them and at an age where they don’t need that type of stress for that long of a time, it just isn’t right.

Hopefully, this will be the last time they need to resist this long for an answer as they will know much faster next year with Capital
