The cops wouldn’t stop this shooting but detained any adult trying to go in the building with a gun. All of these cops should rot in hell. I hope they have absolutely miserable, short lives. They deserve no happiness in life.

It wasn’t Facebook, the story is way back in this thread but it was something I hadn’t heard of. Yes they should be held accountable but people need to be reporting things to the authorities and not just to social media managers.

Arredondo. He was clearly not adequately trained and/or a coward. However he is not the chief of the entire police department, just of the school district. When you are looking to place blame, make changes, tighten security, etc, it’s critical to know this.

Police not school police would have done the detaining. The police have been the ones threatening everybody asking questions. The police have been telling just as many lies as Arredondo. The police we also too afraid to do anything in that building. The police are fighting the release of information. If they want separation from Pete then they need to stop covering things up and lying.

What’s the point of having cops if these heavily trained, heavily armed, heavily protected cowards will not save the lives of little children?

I am glad video footage exist so Texans can see what the stupid propaganda and GOP policies get them.

The reality is we’re all afraid of someone with an AR-15. Asking small police forces to confront a shooter with a military weapon is not fair. They are to blame for the poor response but never should have had this responsibility to begin with. Those weapons should be banned.

What an absolute tragedy, and I cannot believe that these people waited outside while the gunman slaughtered children. There is no amount of information or analysis that will ever let me get my mind around that.

They did not show up. The swat team came from CBP.

No I get that - I was responding to PP's statement that "Asking small police forces to confront a shooter with a military weapon is not fair. They are to blame for the poor response but never should have had this responsibility to begin with." Police forces the country over are militarized like this - but why, if it's not fair to ask them to respond to a situation like this? What if there were TWO shooters - like Columbine? Then they wait outside twice as long - despite having this sort of gear and training?

What is the point of a militarized police department if they still can't be tasked with responding to an active shooter. Am I a step away from defund the police?

people shouldn't even have military grade weapons.
