I'm voting for Harris...but also voting for Hogan

Anonymous
I guess you could call me a centrist. I'm a pro-business, less-government-is-needed kind of voter. That said, I despise trump for all the reasons you can think of. I greatly respect Hogan, however, for his work in MD and his values.

So I will 100% be voting Harris, and also voting Hogan for MD senate. I hope both win! Not looking forward to Harris hiking my taxes...

Who else is in the same camp?

You are pretty dim. You want the Senate to go Republican? A Hogan win will do that. I was fine with him being governor, but electing him Senator and handing the MAGAs the Senate is a bridge too far.

It’s all about the numbers.

With an upset win looking more and more likely in Nebraska, the Senate is becoming interesting.

I’m glad you’re voting for Harris, but without a senate majority - and hopefully Congress too - Harris will be incredibly limited in her ability to get things done effectively. Hogan may have been a good governor, but the Senate is a whole different ballgame and we need a Dem majority - for the Supreme Court at a minimum.

I am also voting for Harris and Hogan. It’s going to be a shitshow either way but I would not want our government controlled by just one party.

There is really only one sane party these days…and its name does not begin with an “R”.

Hogan’s going to caucus with the GOP. Bye bye abortion rights.

I voted for hogan as governor. And if he were running for president I might even consider voting for him.
But absolutely not for Senator. A vote for Hogan is a vote for a Republican senate - and I will not do that.

Do you really not understand this, OP? I want to hear your reasoning for despising Trump but being happy to give the Senate to Trump’s MAGA minions.

This. I’m a centrist too but a Republican Senate is too damaging. The big issues for me are healthcare. Freedom for women to control their bodies and a right to abortion, fertility and birth control is too important. I also fear returning to a time when insurance companies could deny coverage based on pre existing conditions.

Well it’s the perfect MAGA or GOP post. Trump will lose MD whether OP votes for Trump or not. MD isn’t a swing state. OP’s post is designed to get independents to vote for Hogan.

If the GOP Supreme Court hadn’t overturned Roe and taken away 50 years of women’s right or if the GOP ever once stood up to the MAGA insanity maybe but not with how the GOP behaves now. They are held hostage to the crazies.

And what if Trump wins, you nitwit. You like an entire MAGA government?

It is not worth further destroying the supreme court. Hogan also favored friends in business deals and undermined Maryland's educational system. He may seem more reasonable than MAGA, but he will toe the Republican line. He's dangerous.

This excites “centrists” like OP! Then he can smile and roll his eyes and say “politicians, they’re all the same, right?”

People like OP are tiny little attention seekers. The gen x of wannabe influencers, the same kind of pointlessness as dancing on a golf course, tap dancing for likes and subscribes. And all as the GOP wants to kill democracy (and makes no secret of it).

It’s… weird.

The house is not flipping to the Dems, so it would not be controlled by one party. Considering the senate is the busy that decides on which judges would be confirmed, I find it horrifying that we get more and more judges like the judge in Texas that can shut down anything, like he did with the abortion pill, with a stroke of a pen. People talk about the SCOTUs, but the appellate and district court federal judges are far more important and it would be a shame for McConnell and company to stack those courts greater than they already have. Hogan would vote right along the republicans line. People did not learn anything from Collin and Murkowski.
