Who are you to say Hogan won’t be the next Joe Manchin? |
Blind faith is risky. Every government cog aspires to higher status. Why wager on Hogan doing right by you? That’s silly. |
Maga better then communist. |
Because that's not how the GOP operates. Republicans are kept in line with primary threats, and if that doesn't work, kompromat and threats of siccing their homegrown domestic terrorists on "RINOs." Besides, to stand up to the rest of your party requires morals, and we already know Hogan has none, as evidenced by the fact that he's a Republican. |
Well then it's a good thing there are literally zero communists running for Senate you dunce. |
Nuh uh, Jesse Watters told him so! Our good right wingers weirdos on this site have long since ceased thinking for themselves; they only repeat what has been fed into them. |

I think this is a smart move assume both win. I don’t like either party when they have POTUS and Congress. Things are better (IMO more centrists), when they have to hash it all out and move slower.
I also find it interesting when so many people want to oust the MAGA but when you have an R that is not in that collective group, you don’t want him voted in. |
Manchin voted more often for the Democrat positions, as long as it didn’t involve gun regulations and coal, than not. And hogan would do the same as a Republican in a Republican controlled senate. Just like Collins. |
Republicans have largely refused to engage in bipartisan negotiations since Obama was elected and they pledged to stymie him at every turn. They finally reached an agreement with the Democrats on a sweeping immigration bill earlier this year, but Trump blew that up at the last minute. Congress has become deadlocked and dysfunctional. Republicans in the House can barely coalesce behind a Speaker because the House Freedom Caucus is too extreme, even for a fair number of Republicans, but it’s loud enough that it can’t be ignored. I can only conclude from your post that you either like the idea of Congress doing nothing or you haven’t been paying attention to Congress. Also, the reason why we don’t want a non-MAGA like Hogan to be voted in is because he said he will caucus with the Republicans, which would give the MAGA-supporting majority within the Republican caucus more power. They are bad for America. We don’t want to arm them with one more foot soldier. |

I would vote for Hogan for governor, love to see him appointed to a cabinet position, but not in the senate. Not worth the risk of having another vote to confirm Supreme Court justices or pass right-leaning legislation. Do I think he’d *try* to stand up to the maga group? Probably yes, but maga play dirty and he’ll be threatened and intimidated to vote the party line.
I say this as someone who likes Hogan, but state level is different than the Senate. |
Oh great so that Harris can be handicapped with a R senate majority and not be able to actually implement the policies she is running on...... cool cool |
Because hes not voting for MD interests by and large anymore- He would be with the R caucus and he has confirmed that he would do so as a senator. |
Duh. How else are the “centrists” going to find an excuse to vote for a Republican if Harris can get things done? “Cenntrists” love the gridlock. Because they’re Republicans and nihilists who don’t want to see anything get accomplished. Martin Luther King Jr had something to say about White moderates, but “centrists” like the OP find it too cutting to read. |
Hogan isn't MAGA. From MAGA perspective, it's better to have a Senate without Hogan. unless he is the 50th vote, and probably not even then. |
