When two people are killed as the result of drinking and driving (sponsored by a prominent Potomac attorney) of course the media would follow through with the criminal consequences. You know..... for regular people. But when you're above the law, it's now a non-story, huh?

Have the families of the killed boys had a response to the hushed events?

Here are two regular people killed as the result of drinking and driving: John Fauerby and Lynne Rosenbusch. How much have you heard about their deaths? Have you heard anything about their deaths?

If there's one thing there hasn't been in this case, it's a lack of media coverage.

And what happened to the drinking driver who killed them? Nothing?

You're shifting the goal posts.

You: When two people get killed due to drunk driving, the media coverage is extensive, except when it's two people from Potomac; then it's all hushed up!
Me: Here are two people who got killed due to drunk driving and got almost no media coverage, unlike the case with the two people from Potomac, which got plenty.
You: But what happened to that drunk driver?

Focus, please. Are you upset about the lack of criminal charges (except that now there are criminal charges) or about the lack of media coverage (except that there was actually lots of it)?

What are the reported(?) criminal charges for Sam Ellis and Kenneth Saltzman?

If you're too afraid to post the actual charges, how about a link?

Kenneth Saltzman, North Potomac, who hosted the underaged drinking party at his estate, was charged on Oct. 28, 2015 with furnishing alcohol to "a" minor. His trial in District Court for Montgomery County is scheduled for Thur., Dec. 10, 2015.

Not afraid. The way the case search works is it takes you to a database and you have to enter a name. Bully much?

He who wants to learn the consequences for such criminal activity is a bully. Yes, you are absolutely correct.

Some more regular people who (unlike the Wootton case) will probably receive next to no media coverage.

Seven people were injured Thursday afternoon in a Prince George’s County car crash, including four children who were severely hurt.

Prince George’s County fire department spokesman Mark Brady said that the crash occurred at the intersection of New Hampshire and Poplar Avenues in Chillum at 3:15 p.m.

All six people inside one vehicle — two adults and four children — were hurt, Brady said. Police spokeswoman Maria McKinney said that another adult, the sole occupant of the other vehicle, was also injured.

Investigators do not yet know what caused the crash. McKinney said that all four children were in critical condition. Two of the adults suffered serious injuries, and one suffered minor injuries, she said.

A proper, non bullying assholish way to ask is to say "I am interested in the process and don't know how to do a case search. Is there a link? Thank you."

So the warrant is issued but not served yet? At least he's charged. I was beginning to lose faith in the state's attorney.

Well, if Ken Saltzman manages to elude jail for the two dead boys, one can expect that he'll at least get the $2,500. per underaged drinking child fine for each kid at his party. Still, a drop in the bucket for Potomac lawyers of his means. So unfair.

Our DD is too young to understand yet (she's 2), but once she gets old enough to understand, I plan to take her to the site every time there is a crash like this (sadly, seems to happen at least once a year) so it will sink in with her. The fire department posted photos on twitter of the mangled car, and I'd pull that up and show it to her also. I think being at the location helps for it to sink in.

Please be careful not to overdo it. One is enough. And she'll come across them naturally. You don't want to numb her to it, or give her some weird attraction to it. Teenage brains process things differently. Like the article about the Bethesda mom whose son overdosed from heroin. She was in the pharmaceutical industry, and her son had been taught from a young age about the disastrous effects of addiction and how it can start with pain-killers. And he went exactly down that path anyway. I'm not saying it was caused by his exposure, but it clearly wasn't a preventative. And that stuff, brutal exposure to the accidents, that can be traumatic for sensitive children in ways you don't intend.

Key is to know your kids and who their friends are. This can easily be almost a full-time job. Few parents can keep up by high school, or even middle school.

the principal at walt whitman has the right idea. he recently sent out a "please stop!" email to parents when he heard that parents were knowingly hosting drinking parties in their homes.

Agree. The man has real guts. Kudos to him.
Amazing that "parents" are still endangering the lives of the kids like this. It's criminal. They'll keep doing it until they start getting put in lock-up. If Saltzman can get away with it, so can they. That's all.
