There was a short blurb about Ellis' charges in the Whitman principal coverage
'Just this past Thursday, Sam Ellis, the driver in the North Potomac crash, was indicted on two counts of vehicular manslaughter. If convicted, he faces a possible twenty years in prison.' http://wjla.com/news/local/principal-urges-parents-to-quit-hosting-teen-drinking-parties |
| Who told WTOP Ellis is from Gaithersburg? |
He has a Gaithersburg address although the neighbors would be horrified to see that in print. |
His address is in the court records. And yes, it's in Gaithersburg. |
| Wow, looks like he never was arrested for this. That he had a video bail hearing and was released on his own recognizance. |
Like everybody else in this same situation. |
There was a big discussion of this around page 34 of the thread. I live in the area and mentioned it is not a "wealthy" potomac neighborhood but thread boss shut me down. Kept telling me this Potomac lawyer "of means" was buying his kid out of trouble. I know where the neighborhoods kid lives and where the party was held - neither are expensive areas. |
| Could someone please post the link from today's Washington Post, Metro Section, "MD. teen indicted in fatal crash"? Thanks. |

It says David Moyse is Kenneth Saltzman's defense attorney. Moyse is married to a Montgomery County prosecutor. Nice. |
Does it really matter? Unless I misunderstand, the most Saltzman faces is $5000 in fines. |
Because he hosted only two underaged drinkers at his estate? |
Well, only two that died. |
He hosted many more than two underaged drinkers. But he's well connected in Montgomery County. What do you expect for the rich? |
