Uncle Ruckus Thomas always votes against anything that helps Black people. SMH. |
Actually TJ's new policy hurts black people in the long run. |
#schoolchoice |
Definitely going to have to show your work on that one. Start by talking about how access to college opportunities has harmed Black folks.

I would assume there is some relationship between these two data points. |
| The horror of having to take geometry in high school. |
|
You really cherry-picked your numbers there.
If you went back to a few years previous, you would see significantly higher numbers of students who had dropped out during the school year - and you're still only talking about a little bit over 2%. And with respect to math level, there are two significant issues here: 1) the text says, "most freshmen had completed Geometry. That changed." No it didn't. Let's say that number is, what, 135 or so based on the graph? You're still talking about over 75% of the class having taken Geometry already, which is "most" by any definition of the word. 2) Ten years ago, the number of students taking Geometry at TJ was approximately the same as it is now, and the school was doing just fine. Twenty years ago, it was probably three times as many. |
In a non STEM focused school perhaps. I'm just curious if there's a relationship or not. |

There is a point at which the folks who are insistent upon tearing down the school need to be barred from having access to it because of the damage they're inflicting on the students.
I hope the school system and administration has the courage to bar these people. You wouldn't allow a parent to come on campus if they constantly raged about how stupid a group of students at the school was. |
Irony just died |
You know why. Just doesn't suit your narrative and self-interests. |
Because they need to know their place. TJ is reserved for their betters |
The only thing unreadable is your post. I have no idea what you are trying to say. |
Nope. Wrong. The kids will do fine at TJ. They have mostly richer more involved black parents. It is just that it doesn't improve the community overall as politicians are just using a few kids to claim victory when the bigger problem is building the base/pipeline and improving standards - look at the statistics on high school math/language metrics. And white folks just displaced some pesky Asians and are slapping each other on the back. |
The problem is in lack of comprehension skills. |
