What clubs are left in Nova?

Anonymous
Okay, I’m back into lacrosse in NoVa after my daughters have gone through. My nieces are coming up and we’re looking at travel lacrosse. They’re young but long term, who is left?
I saw the Pride threat, thanks!
Cavalier is dead?
Cardinal (my daughters played there and we’re partial) is no where to be seen.
Metro was sold off or dead?
SuperNova is gone?
Virginia United?
Stars. . . Well, if we wanted to join a cult we’d join Scientology. Maybe it’s different now if they’re still around.

I’m old, some help?

There is always noise but the top three clubs for ES and MS girls are Pride, Stars and a program on the rise is YJMA. Yes, Pride has issues, but they have also had the strongest teams as shown by their 25, 26, and now 28 teams. They typically play in the higher brackets at tourneys with Stars usually close behind. The other clubs are still trying to find their niche.

Where do they live? Proximity to practice is always a factor.

Cardinal, Cavalier, Metro, Super Nova and United are all dead. Pride still has the best teams and is the best at developing players. They also have the most kids selected by Capital each year for HS and have multiple teams ranked nationally. Stars is next after Pride but they are owned by private equity and have their own problems. They also bought MCE last year and that has not gone well.

Pride is not the best at developing players any more. For younger teams, BLC is doing a much better job. NOVA girls lax clubs are on the decline. Just look at BLC 29 and younger. When that age group gets to MS, CLC will mostly be BLC girls.

Agree on this, the younger Pride teams are not good. Stay clear of Stars, they have been on a downward spiral ever since the st james bought them.

+1
Until stars gets new leadership they will never be a competitive club.

BLC is not in NoVa. They are asking about VA teams.
