Since invariably we get the "what should I get DH/Dad/Kids' Dad for Father's Day" around here, I thought I'd offer a list of things *I* would actually like to receive.
Please note: This list is offered in good faith and the assumption of a happily functioning family, including an engaged father and husband who wasn't neglectful of his own wife/mother/mother of his children a month ago. If he forgot, or whatever, I'm genuinely sorry for you but please don't derail my thread by harping on that. I'm offering this in genuine good faith. I'm doing things across price points, in case that's helpful. Some of these things are probably out of budget for some people, and that's OK. It's just a list of things I would genuinely like. (And keep in mind, these are just "my" things -- other guys obviously have different interests -- I'm just hoping it gives a flavor of the TYPE of thing we like. Adapt to the men in your lives as you see fit). High dollar stuff -- A really nice straw Panama hat. Price: $50 to 75 for like a Bruno Capelli to $1,000 for a genuine Montecristi. But a good price point is the $180 or so for a hemp fedora from Stetson or Borsalino. Good online sources for hats include Village Hat Shop, Holland Hats in Connecticut, Hats in the Belfry, Dapperfam. Bonus if you pair it with a nice, authentic Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses with an attitude. You could also think ahead to Fall and go the felt hat route, but the good ones cost between $200-600 and up depending on whether it's rabbit, hare, or beaver. You can get wool for around $100. Caps are good too -- and are less expensive. Get him to trade baseball caps for a good newsboy. Depends on whether he's a cap or wide brim guy (or could be)... I just recommend the straw since he can wear it right away. -- High-qualify bourbon, ideally something you have to get at the lottery or allocated drops at the ABC stores in VA. Pappy Van Winkle, etc. -- couple of hundred bucks if you can find it. Bonus: A monogrammed decanter and matching glasses. -- Tickets to a sports event or concert. For me that would be like a weekend series for baseball, including overnight (i.e. a Saturday night game/hotel/Sunday afternoon game). Your guy might be into other types of sports. Splurge for decent seats. -- Subscription to Stately, if he likes clothes (but only for a couple of months -- it'll add up.) Medium dollar stuff -- High quality multitool like a Leatherman. -- High quality rain jacket. Check out the Danish maker called Rains. https://www.us.rains.com/collections/waterproof-rain-jackets?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0_WyBhDMARIsAL1Vz8tMy7vZ_GR3pMezj6l0OOE4DnPrb9WrUOtCEueuplbDIDu6T8TyISsaAlADEALw_wcB -- Subscription to Bespoke Post. I've been very surprised by what I've gotten from them, including the aforementioned rain jacket. -- Supplies for grill (not tools so much as something to cook beer can chicken with ... or other accessories he might normally buy for himself). -- Something like throwing knives and a target. Low dollar stuff -- Hot sauces, a variety. Best if you actually select several yourself rather than order prepackaged collection. -- Collection of teas or coffees. -- Jelly Beans or a favorite candy from youth. Jelly Belly is the best brand, IMO. -- Obviously, anything handmade by kiddos Hope this helps. If I think of other things, I'll add to the list. |
| I like this list. Thank you |
| My husband wouldn't want any of that. |
| My DH would like the jelly beans! |
| Not great list for all. |

I found a few ideas from your list.
Thanks |

Thanks, dude. My husband might like the tea. Literally nothing else. No offense. Just not universal.
My husband might like: - car wash - Tractor Supply hat - Vuori clothing - some sort of pizza or taco dinner with lots of fresh veggies and red meat - a guitar - us to not spend money on him so we can do other things with it Not universal either, I realize! |
| Mine would like trip to Micro Center LOL |
| Great ideas! |
|
Thanks, OP. I did give DH a nice rain jacket last year. It is worn regularly. |

HA! Mine too! Literally his happy place. |
Sweet list! Like that’s it has a lot of variety. |
| Nice of you to do this. My husband likes 90% of those things. |

Thanks OP! I enjoy reading lists like this and often find them helpful. My DH would love a few of your items.
Some more ideas for others, inspired by my DH: - Nice cigars and a cigar humidor - Professional framing of special items (e.g., jerseys) if DH has an office or man cave - Heated vest (obviously better for colder months) |
