Lost 10 lbs and....stuck

Anonymous
Took 3 months, a lot of dieting and exercise, and the needle will not move.
I need 15 more lbs off.

Eating 1300 calories per day, high protein, low(er) not low, carbs, lots of fiber. Vegetarian. I burn 300 to 400 calories a day in exercise. Hypothyroid, on meds.

Get me off this plateau.

Can you share more about your current size?

When I was on a plateau I had to eat more calories as I accidentally went into starvation mode. That could be the issue you are facing.

I'd also add 400 calories a day in exercise is not a lot.

I am now 168. Long journey with thyroid issues.

Also, according to my watch, 400 calories comes from 3 or 4 miles of power walking- 45 minutes. 3 times a week, that is an hour, and 5 or 6 miles.
I also do weights. Menopausal.

You are not buring 400 calories by walking 3-4 mile. So…just don’t even bothering calculating that into anything.
The watch estimates are grossly inaccurate. Keep up the movement for health though. Can you do more strenuous activity? That can be more helpful, even if for a shorter duration.

Like what? I'm really working up a sweat and going up several fairly steep inclines while doing that.
And I'm not calculating it into my diet. I never go beyond 1300 calories and if 200 or 400 calories are added there from the excercise , I don't eat them regardless.

Starvation mode lmao. Can someone explain to me why well fed Americans go into “starvation mode” and it makes them unable to lose weight while people in other parts of the world who are actually starving lose weight and then eventually die?
