The Academy teams are the preECNL. I think it was just about getting a regular schedule in place. In the Fall some ages were able to set up games every weekend and some weren't.

braddock road's travel offerings are so confusing that is why we never try out there. can't they put this all together on their website and explain it and keep it up to date??!! is that too much to ask . . .

I'm a Braddock Road parent and I agree with you there. It's a little better when you are inside the program, but I get a little jealous when I see Alexandria's website.

What age groups? Boys or Girls or both? what happened to the 'pre-ECNL' teams?

I would think it's those "pre-ECNL" teams. Probably the feedback from the players and families wasn't the greatest not having games on a week to week.

Correct on age group. See link for full list of New NCSL teams for Spring 2018. http://www.ncsl-soccer.com/welcome-teams

So for teams below their 13U-19U ECNL teams, they left CCL, went to pre-ECNL training only mode, and are now putting those <13U teams back into NCSL? I can't track the landscape. Training-only mode was an interesting experiment that was nice to see tried.

interesting to see so many new teams joining in the Spring. Probably many coming from Rec or ODSL. Too bad ODSL is having less and less teams each year. It's actually well organized.

Coming from CCL2 as well.

There are no CCL2 teams on that list.

Don’t know if they are CCL 2 but Arlington Blue, Loudoun White, SYC White, SYA Black, and LMVSC TBD all are new entries at U9 or u10 boys level in NCSL. And the BRYC has two entries, both elite and elite blue. So I think that encompasses their top boys team unless others know otherwise.

I actually am skeptical. I think those teams listed as BRYC Academy Elite are NOT the same as the pre-ECNL team(s). The 'elite' teams at BRYC are historically ODSL teams. I bet those teams are simply leaving ODSL.

the 'elite' teams are the BRYC Academy teams (the top tier travel program/pre-ECNL/not rec program travel/whatever you want to call it) and they are piloting playing these teams in Spring for NCSL. I thought it was only U11 and U12 but I see the younger ages too. They are all good teams so it will be good competition. The U9s are fun to watch and many of them often play up with the older ages.

Those are the clubs' 3rd teams.

Aren’t those third teams the CCL 2 teams? Arlington White, for instance, is CCL, even though it is Arlington’s second team.

SYC White was in CCL2 last year. Not sure why they are leaving... Anyone know the deal?

SYC top teams were CCL2 as they are not CCL. I believe top team is Orange. The names listed above are for U9/10 age groups where clubs put up to 3 teams at that level of CCL. The third team is likely going to NCSL to establish itself within that league since that's where they'll play in the future.

^^ depends on the age groups. up here in CCL, the big clubs put their A and B teams both in CCL for U9 and U10. their U9 and U10 C teams go into CCL2. that seems to be changing though as pps point out some seem to be in ncsl now.

at u11 and above up here (and down in the south), A teams slot into CCL and B teams slot into CCL2

Makes sense. Which is why Arlington White U9 May be CCL (as listed on CCL schedules) and older Arlington White may be CCL 2.
