Capital has one player on Colgate. Capital also has players on Northwestern, BC and UNC (Hero’s has none) and these players receive more playing time than M&D Black players. Capital has players on other top 25 teams beyond these programs, including Yale, Virginia, Princeton, Hopkins, JMU, Penn, Michigan, Brown, Denver, UMass and Harvard. |
Someone asked if Captial has equal playing time in high school (which is something to consider for a 2029 when deciding which club to tryout for in high school). Someone responded that they typically do but wondered if it would change to make sure they stay in top brackets. That is how it is relevant. |
Capital enthusiasts have been gaslighting the MDDC team since the thread started, as they identified them as the top 2029 team and the one they wanted to go after to poach. Meanwhile, they've been ignoring that their brand and model has been taking a significant hit the last several years, playing out now as they've been told it would, as they cheerlead on the 2029 thread for getting-further-away top Capital teams from years before that. Tit for tat. |
We're talking about the future and what it holds for players in the last several Capital classes and beyond. This is the 2029 thread. |
Which is why accurate info on where Capital players have been recruited is important.
Since you mentioned it, recent Capital classes: 2025s: UNC Florida (2) Stanford Duke (2) ND Hopkins (2) Michigan Dartmouth Vanderbilt AZ State VA Tech Cinci Gettysburg Marquette Holy Cross 2026s: Yale (2) Princeton Michigan Duke Army Denver Harvard (2) Dartmouth VA Tech Florida State (2) Mercer Oregon Bucknell Holy Cross Columbia (2) |
If all the top 2029 players end up at capital they will go places! |
Yes, Capital used to have some highly ranked teams for recruiting. Used to. |
Ask how well that went for the 28s. Learn from the 28 pride team who should have stayed together. Several holes in your theory. 1) Not all of the best will tryout for capital 2) Capital Politics will keep them from choosing all of the best players 3) The M&D backing is much stronger than the pride reputation for recruiting, so it will be more enticing for them to keep a good thing in tact and not risk it on 1 four hour tryout that will ultimately take kids from a very bad stars 29 team and equally as bad pride 29 team who didn't even play in the A division for NGLL. |
Capital posted "seeking experienced and motivated coaches". Tryouts are in two months. Any of the capital fans know who the coach will be for the 2029s. |
How would they know, Capital doesn't even know, it seems. |
29s are deciding where to play in high school so some on this board are trying to say that Capital is no longer a top club because of the current record of the 27 and 28 teams |
So, then go with the brand new club? Still not understanding. |
That’s what they said about the 28s and look how that’s going. The 10 or so girls playing for Maryland clubs didn’t come back. |
It is a debate - go with new club with no history but a name or go with Capital that has history and a name |
Capital parent here. Go to Hero’s or M&D if your daughter has top notch game and you can make the trek. If not, try out for Capital and see if you make Blue. If daughter can’t make Blue, then it’s a tough call. Orange or another club. Frankly, that’s a harder decision than the first one. |
