I didn't like the first season of BB at all. But stuck with it and was completely captivated in S2.
Funny I watched on DVD. We had moved and the cable hook up was 5 days away. My husband picked up 2 seasons from the $5 bin at store just to have something to watch. I probably would have given up S 1 if I had other options. |
| The first time I ever saw it, I happened to walk by the TV when DH was watching BB, the train robbery episode where Todd kills the kid, Drew, on his bike. OMG, I had to watch it. It looked incredibly evil, but by the reactions of Walt, and Jesse in particular, I knew this was an artform. I've rewatched it 3 times. Best Show Ever! |
| I despise BB so dumb so over done so, so dumb. |
| I hated it too, watched a few seasons but couldn’t make myself watch the rest. Although someone here will argue “that’s what drug dealing is like,” some of the constant violence felt gratuitous. Definitely a guy show. |
I loved The Wire but hated Breaking Bad. Maybe because The Wire at least had some (flawed) good characters. |

It’s not a guy show!! Quit saying that.

| Yep you're insane OP |
| Agree it’s not just a guy show—so many of us women are saying that we loved it. Actually my husband wasn’t blown away by it like I was. |
|
I’m a Black woman who was sucked in during episode 1, season 1.
One of my faves. |
| Loved Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. I’m a women. |
Same here. |
| I liked it better after the first season. I liked Better Call Saul better, though. |
| I hate Breaking Bad. I grew up in a family with multiple uncles who dealt drug. It's not a fun watch for me. |
|
Breaking Bad isn’t about drugs. And it’s most certainly not a guy show. I really don’t understand people who reduce it to that. It’s fine if you didn’t like it but saying it’s a show about drugs and drug people or saying it’s a guy show is just silly.
It’s like those who won’t watch Friday Night Lights because “I don’t like football”. Again, very silly. |
S1E1 was one of the best hours of television in history. Brilliant. |
