| We love getting into a good series but I for the love of movies, never understood this show. Tried to watch it again the other night and just couldn't get into it. What is the deal? How/why is this so popular? I have really enjoyed many other series but this was torture. What am I missing other than Bryan Cranston being a great actor? |
| How far into it have you gotten? |
I think it was like 5 shows into season 1 and I had to go to the other room and watch another show...husband kept watching it. |
| I couldn’t get into it either. |
| I’ve heard that men tend to like it much more than women. I watched the first season and liked it but never had a huge desire to watch more. |
+2 |
I’m a woman and loved that show. Complex human and family relationships and a fascinating glimpse of descent into evil that can happen to the average person. |
| Same. Hate it. Have tried multiple times. |
|
Another hater here. I tried it with my DH but I only made the first 15-20 minutes and was like NO. NEVER AGAIN.
Takes a particular mind-set. Also I think it is a male-skewing show. |
+1. Another woman who loved it. Have probably rewatched a billion times since COVID started. That and a few others are my standbys on rotation for when I just want something kinda on in background without having to pay too much attention. It’s just a really well-made show and effing hilarious much of the time too. I guess it depends on your humor and taste though. |
| Also didn’t love it. The characters make such terrible decisions that it’s hard to identify with them. Like when Jessie got chained up and forced to make meth. Come on. |
Yep, and I can’t wait for another season of Better Call Saul. Now Game of Thrones I did not like. Gratuitous sex and violence I thought. |
| That’s how I felt about the Wire. Oh well. Sometimes a show just doesn’t work for you. |
| I thought the photography had a lot to do with liking Breaking Bad. Also Jessie. Skyler was so easy to dislike. |
Yes, me too. Hated Breaking Bad, and hated The Wire. Shows for men. |
