APS - 10 feet distancing at recess?!?!

APS furthering their effort at making this as miserable as possible for the kids.

Jfc, at this late stage and with all this neuroticism just keep it DL due the rest of this school year and retool for the next school year.

Thats exactly what APS wants.. Most families want in-person 5-days in the fall, easing in w/hybrid now is the only path to hopefully make that happen.

It is a small thing. For anyone that’s bent about it, you can let them play after school, elsewhere.

WHAT!?! What are they trying to accomplish, further damage to our kids' and students' mental health? What is the logic? I think APS is punishing families that want to return.

OMG MY KID CANT PLAY WITH BALLS AT RECESS MUST GET HYSTERICAL

Our APS principal used to take away the balls at recess pre-pandemic

Too dangerous

That’s insane. Our PTA is constantly funding more balls.

Your kids must be doing fine. It’s a literal emergency for some kids. They need to be back in school. Check your privilege.

So, anyone out there have play dates recently where you instructed the kids to stay 6 feet apart? It works for less than a minute. What a nightmare for staff to police! I like that they’re trying to keep things safe, but this one is unrealistic.

Which is probably why they're saying 10. I know that if I model 10 feet for my students, I might get 5. If I model the distance I actually will get 3.

It's like when you have a toddler. I taught my little ones, when they were playing in the front yard, that hte side walk and the grass strip were off limits. I know they actually weren't dangerous, but I'd rather intervene there, than at the actual street.

So then be happy your kids are going back and stop complaining about every.little.freaking.thing.

I’m glad they’ll have time outside. I can’t imagine it’s going to be an easy task for the little kids, but I’m glad an effort is being made to include recess (even if it looks different).

There was a lot of push from the North Arl parents to re-open, knowing that underprivileged students were suffering immensely, in addition to knowing what's best for their own kids. Nothing wrong with that. A majority of kids are suffering with DL

Prime example of white savior complex.

South Arlington parents say fck off and worry about your own kids. Don’t silence us.
