The state has reclassified club swimming as low risk, when protocols are in place. After all, they are swimming in disinfectant! It’s now in the hands of the county to determine capacity. |
Thanks for this, good to know. |

| COVID case reported at MLK site |
|
you mean a swimmer or coach who is positive? a case is expected. any transmission?
did they quarantine the swimmers in the group? |
| Swimmer tested positive |
| No transmission is a good thing. |
It's going to happen. As long as they have been following procedures, it shouldn't be a big deal. |

+1
I'm not worried if it's a single case of a person who probably got it elsewhere but wondering if their procedure is to quarantine the whole team and the coach. Or whether they hope people were distant enough that others are unlikely to have gotten it. |
There is not a procedure to quarantine the group because if they have been following protocols, they would not have the exposure to require this. I’m not at MLK, but I don’t know of any groups that have quarantined and I do know there have been single cases here and there. it will really be up to the health department when contact tracing is performed. If they determine a swimmer was face to face with someone long enough, then they would say to quarantine. |
| What did coaches/facility managers tell parents about the positive case ? |
Very little, just that a parent reported a child’s positive test but, protocols had been followed |
It is a big deal. We weren't told anything. |
If it’s not in my group, I wouldn’t expect to be. |
You weren’t told anything because your swimmer wasn’t impacted. |
