COVID/Safety. Some families have parents or other relatives in the home with health issues. Swim is the only thing we do outside the house. |
| Any one know the reasons RMSC is not doing meets like NCAP ASA OCCS FISH Marlins MSSC FAST Tollefson Tibu and many other programs |
. Montgomery County will not let them use the pools to do so. They put in an application to hold one in December and were told they can not. Now they definitively know they will have to rent a pool outside the county to hold a meet or wait for health conditions to improve enough for the county to change its mind. . |

The only meets that have happened so far in the PVS LSC have been in VA. Even those have been limited.
Hopefully we can demonstrate there have been no examples of transmission at meets that have occurred thus far and petition the county to host a meet. |
| You have to imagine that a Montgomery Co Rec program will not hold a meet in Virginia if the county refuses to let it do one here |
Mostly true, RMSC and ASA each held a limited, sanctioned meet in October in MoCo. But with numbers rising and county restrictions added November/December meets were cancelled or denied permission. It’s quite frustrating and we’re stuck given we can’t use our own facilities or rent others. But at least we’re practicing at our home pools indoors! |
Back to add... ASA has the benefit of being a much smaller team, therefore, could be invited to meets hosted in VA by other PVS clubs. I’m not sure they have been, but that is one manner in which they and other small MoCo-based teams could get in a meet at this point. |
| I'm glad they aren't holding meets. |
Yup, ASA was at a meet in December hosted by the Fairfax Foxes. |
| NCAP has attended several meets. |
Yes, they break up by site and/or training group to host/attend in VA. |
